Reflux question (sorry, long)
My poor DS will be 2 months old tomorrow. He has been through so much with the reflux, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. He was originally BF, but my milk stopped, so we then went to the Similac Sensitive, that's when the dr. found out he had a milk protein allergy. Since then, we have been on alimentum and now elecare. He is also on Zantac, 15 mg, 3x a day. Now, he is sleeping better at night on the Elecare, but he is still screaming bloody murder when he burps & spits up. Wouldn't this be an issue that the Zantac should be taking care of???? We have an appointment with the pediatrician on Wed...but he is supposed to get all his 1st shots, then the gastro guy on Friday. Should I push for a change in meds??

Re: Reflux question (sorry, long)
how long has he been on the zantac for?
If it's been more than a few days and no change, i'd try a different reflux med. He might be better off with axid or prevacid.

Oh yeah, he's been on Zantac now for 20 days. When I told the drs I didn't think it was working, they upped the dosage. That was 14 days ago.

Yes then i'd think about switching!
ETA: the point of the meds is to make them more comfortable and not in pain. If he's still in pain... time to try something else.
