Reflux Mommies with DC on Zantac
Anthony's script for Zantac was just increased by his Ped at his 4 month appointment earlier this week. I've always given it to him 2x a day, once when he wakes up and once at night before bed. This afternoon he was showing lots of reflux signs.. spitting up, arching his back, etc. so I gave him his second dose earlier.
What time of day do you usually give yoiur DC their doses and how much are they getting?
DS is getting 1.6 ml 2x/day and weighs 14 lbs 2 oz.

I remember at one point my DS was getting 1.5 ml twice per day. I gave it morning and night. If the med is twice per day, you should be giving it every 12 hours (24 hrs/2 = 12). If it's 3 times per day, every 8 hours , etc. Do not give it to him much sooner than you are supposed to.
Hope your DC feels better and gets some relief soon.

She is about 13 lbs and gets 1.5 ml 2 x's a day. The ped said there is a range and she is on the higher end of the range. We usually give it when she wakes up (around 7-7:30am) and then when she goes to bed (around 7-7:30 pm.)

Re: Reflux Mommies with DC on Zantac
DD is on zantac. Last we checked she was 9 lbs and on 1 ml twice daily. IT helped a lot and now out of nowhere things took a turn for the worse. I need to try adding rice cereal in the bottles before the doctor will increase the zantac (which she spits out and HATES to take).
I can't seem to get the formula mixed with rice cereal out of the nipple though on the BornFrees, the level 1 and 2 don't work and level 3 is too fast (adding 1 tspn for 4 ounces) According to the ped I need to try to open a level 1 or 2 with a sterile needle...still too afraid to do that.
IF the zantac isn't working alone i'd try the rice cereal (although that's what i was told and I did not try it yet! )
