reformatting a hard drive
Has anyone had any luck? My laptop was acting up.... I only had a few minutes before programs stoppd responding. On the advice of a friend, I made sure my external hard drive was up to date and all my data was backed up and then re-installed windows. That was great for the few hours it took me to re-install all of my software. Then, it got all crazy. It won't even start in safe mode. I tried to reinstall windows again, but it seems to have gotten "stuck" and I have been staring at the screen that comes up before you enter the language you want to use for about 2 hours.
I want to throw this thing out of the window! Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks!!!!

Re: reformatting a hard drive
Did you format the partition when you did the reinstall? I would say that would be the best option. Even if it in a quick format. If the install is hung and it has been a few hours then you need to reinstall it. FM me if you have any questions.

Re: reformatting a hard drive
Thanks so much for the suggestion. Even though my friend is drowning in his "real" work, he took my laptop today and hopefully it will come back as good as new.
Thanks again!
