Does anyone know of locations in Queens or Manhattan that are collecting supplies for Rockaway/Long Beach/Breezy Pt families -- we have many people who want to donate linens, clothes, shoes, coats, baby clothes (even old Halloween costumes) etc and we're unclear where to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also looking for a place to donate in Suffolk County. If I can't find one, I'm thinking of starting my own! I can't sit back and see everything going on and not do anything.

Re: Relief Efforts
Just found this on the the Long Beach, NY, Hurricane Information facebook page:
"IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THOSE LOOKING TO GET SUPPLIES INTO LONG BEACH. We have finalized a donation center at: 157 E Sunrise Hwy, Freeport, NY 11520.
Drop off anytime from 9-7 anywhere in the facility.
We need additional people to staff it, just to direct any traffic, that would be awesome. We invite all NON residents to drop off donations so that resident volunteers can run them in (much easier to get through security as a resident). PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!"

My coworker lives in Freeport. She said the roads are horrible to even get there to help. I hope they get what they need!

Please continue to post and share this info -- even if you can just donate a pack of tube socks or D batteries, it will go a long way. Please use social media to share these drop off sites and encourage your friends to donate materials.
