Are you calling the director of the religious education? I'm not sure who they report to but I would think the parish secretary would have some better ideas on what your next step is....even if that's writing a letter that includes the priest.
When I had a problem with the evil catholic school principal, I emailed the diocese. It was amazing how quickly that woman got back to me after that...
I'm sure there is a shortage for religion teachers & they'd be glad to have you host.
