Rental Car Help please!
Which company do you prefer and why?
Do you recommend us bring our own car seat for DS (will be 7 months) or should we use one through the rental company?
Do you take out additional insurance?

Re: Rental Car Help please!
We honestly go with whoever is cheapest when we are booking, but I would suggest bringing your own carseat...I always feel more comfortable with a seat that I know is safe, hasn't been in an accident, is clean, and that I know how to work!

Re: Rental Car Help please!
We just rented from Enterprise in Oceanside.
They were great! The standard car that we rented wasn't available when we got there, so we had a choice to go to their RVC location or to take a free upgrade to an SUV
They gave a pretty hard sell on the extra insurance, but we didn't take it.
I would suggest making sure there is a branch of the rental car company somewhere near where you'll be staying, just in case there's a problem with the car & you need a replacement or something.
No kids yet, so I'm not sure about the car seat.

Definitely bring your own car seat. As far as which company, we usually go with the cheapest- which has been Alamo. I find their prices are often cheaper on their own website rather than expedia or something like that. We never take out additional insurance, we just book on our credit card.

ITA w/ the PPs. We use whoever is cheapest. I also usually try to find out which companies have discounts thru my old company or online and see if they end up being any better rates than the cheapest price... I would bring your own car seats, and check w/ your insurance company- if your policy covers rental cars, then no, I wouldn't pick up the added cost. HTH!

Re: Rental Car Help please!
Jess... def put Ryan in his own seat. When dad picked me up in Vegas, he rented one.... OMG that thing was nasty.
I will always tell EVERYONE to bring their own seat after I saw that thing, and quite honestly.... I can't see it as being extremely safe either..... it was flimsy!
