rhodium plating question - rings - UPDATE
did anyone ever have their rings dipped? if so how much did you pay? TIA!!
UPDATE: so i had my e-ring and wedding band (which is an eternity band with princess cut stones) rhodium plated. i actually had to leave them there overnight, the place i went to deep cleans them so the rhodium holds better.
i picked them up today and WOW! my rings look brand-spankin-new! they did a great job. did not miss a spot. and the cleaning they did took out a lot of dust (or whatever it was) on the underside of my wedding band where the stones were set, but i could never get out, and made the stones look a bit dull.
i was quoted $35 per ring, they originally were going to charge me $75 for both (apparently e-rings are more although i don't know why) but when i nicely pointed out that they told me $35 per ring they fixed it
the place i went to was in eastern nassau, FM me if you want to know where.

Yes, and you just reminded me that I need to do it again. It was around $30.

Mine does this, and cleans it for free too, but that's because DH paid a little extra for some kind of service plan when he bought it so it's not really "free" - KWIM?

Re: rhodium plating question - rings
I haven't had rings done but I have had some other pieces done. I think it was about $50. Inspect the piece when you get it back. Sometimes the rhodium does not get into the crevices of the piece and you may still see yellow gold. I think I was told that happens if they do not dip it long enough.
