Rhogam reimbursement

Just wondering if any of you who have had the shot, had it covered by insurance? Mine didn't cover it (Oxford) but I was going to see if DH's would reimburse me for it, or if there's anything I can do to get reimbursed for it.
(Obviously I just paid the $200 for it to have it handled, but someone told me I should look into being reimbursed).

Any thoughts?

Re: Rhogam reimbursement

I just had to go through this whole crazy procedure about it. Make sure that your insurance company does NOT have it listed as an immunization. That is how Empire tried to bill it & would deny it. I had the Drs office call & they sent over paperwork contradicting that categorization. I think they are now paying for it.Chat Icon

Re: Rhogam reimbursement

I had the Rhogam when I had my D&C, and had no issues, I don't know what's going to happen this time around when I get it before the baby gets here! I didn't even think it would be an issue!! Oh Geeze!

Re: Rhogam reimbursement

I had it after a mc in September. i was told i have to have it before the baby is born around 26 weeks and then again right after the baby is born in case I got pregnant right away. My insurance covered it. I have Island Group Insurance. I will say, they have covered all of my expenses so far, minus my $10 copay for prenatals.

I have Multiplan, DH is in a local! I mean I've had other issues with them but nothing so far about the Rhogam!

Re: Rhogam reimbursement

I have Oxford and I was reimbursed. I had to submit a claim and it was paid for under my medical plan, NOT under the RX plan. When you call, tell them you need a claim form and go from there. It took a while to get reimbursed though.
