Ripping out paneling
Anyone get paneling ripped out in their house? Could you let me know approximately how much it costed and what company you used? Or anyone who knows of a company that rips down paneling and installs dry wall? DH can paint after dry wall is done.
I was trying to get DH to paint the paneling this summer, but he really wants to rip it down. He wants to do it himself to save money, but we also have a baby room to redo, a kitchen to finish, and a bunch of other house projects, so I would rather just see how much it is! TIA!

Ripping out paneling
How the paneling is attached will impact the scope of the removal. Do you know if its adhesive glue or just nailed to the drywall behind it? We were going to hire sometime to remove it, but my Dad popped off one section with a crowbar and saw it was only nailed in. We demoed our entire den in just a few hours and save a decent amount of $$$.

Re: Ripping out paneling
my contractor did it- mine was glued…BAD NEWS
I don't recommend it unless you are prepared for the worst- which is what I had…..
I need to re sheetrock
and I had tons of bad electric that I had to rewire
first day budget overage of $10-$15K
am I glad I did it? yes- but you need to be prepared
