Has anyone done this? How is it? We did Essex last year. Wondering how it compares. Thanks!

Haven't done Essex so can't compare but the Riverhead one was cute. They do the trolley ride while they tell the story then you stop at a VERY SMALL Santa's house and get hot chocolate and a snack and pics with Santa (and a bell). Then you ride back on the trolley. I would do it again.

Is this anywhere near the Tanger outlets? Do they have a website?

We did it, I posted pics on the parenting board if you do a search. My kids and nieces liked it. It's the actual real Polar Express story, whereas Essex is not. So you get a Polar Express licensed experience (bell, coffee mug, and the story reading).

Yes, not far from there. Google them, they have a site. I don't have the link off hand

Re: Riverhead Trolley Polar Express?

We did this last year and my kids really liked it. We have never done the Essex one but I'm sure it is not as grand. My kids had a great time. The kids wore their pajamas and heard the story on the trolley to the "North Pole" which as someone mentioned is small. They had hot chocolate once we got to to Santa. They got a bell and a beautiful Polar Express mug. He spoke to each child and took a picture. It was very nice and we will be doing it again.

I want to say 2 hours? I can't remember.

No they don't have a Groupon, and it will likely sell out, so if you are thinking about it, I would get tickets soon.

Is it worth the $41 per head price?

I thought it was nice, we got nice mugs and a nice bell out of it, along with a nice night out that my kids enjoyed. What is worth it to some might not be to others. I am used to paying a nominal price for kiddie things anyway, so the price didn't bother me.
