RSVP date ......and no RSVPs
So, what do you do when ONE person has RSVP'd to the party out of the classmates.
Friends, family etc is easy to get in touch w/ the non RSVPers .........but the kids from the class, I don't know the parents .....
How do I handle this?

Do you have the class list from the beginning of the school year? I know on DS's Kindergarten list it had all the parent's name along with their email addresses. Maybe email them or at least a few of DS's closest friends he talks about. 
This is why I am not doing a class party this year. 21 kids in his kindergarten class and 5 in his enrichment class. Plus, he loves his friends from speech. Not even counting our close family friends with kids we get together with a lot. Just family and close friends at the house for DS's 6th.

If there isn't a list perhaps print out a reminder RSVP notice and send them in with your DC. Maybe put "yes" only or "regrets" only.

This is why most by us do evites. One mom recently rescheduled her daughter's party because most had not rsvp'd and then turned into no's because of communions.

I sent personal e-mails to follow up with non-RSVPers. In our case, it turned out all but one meant to RSVP yes.

I don't have emails of the parents either -

I WISH there were emails on the list - only phone numbers, and I feel intrusive and weird to call people and ask "hey are you coming?"
If it was email it would be 10x easier.
And I only invited the boys from the class, so I can't even piggyback off of one of the class mom's FYI emails ....b/c I have no clue how to tell who's who.
I'm not making personalized favors or anything - it's just annoying to be stuck paying a small fortune for kids who are no shows - I'd rather have to lay out extra that day for extra kids, rather than be paying for people who aren't there ....
Next year we're going to rethink our birthday strategy !!

I feel your pain, I reached out to the teacher and she was of NO help - she stated she didn't have email address for the parents which I find hard to believe but whatever.
yea next year im hoping she doesn't want a party like this....
my problem is I am making personalized bracelets for the girls so that part is hard, and I rather NOT make a ton of extra goody bags for no reason and them there is the paying for kids who don't show - I just don't get how rude people can be - JUST RSVP....

Depends on when the party is, but I would probably wait until the weekend and then call people if you can.
I am a single parent and if I don't RSVP immediately to things, I am that guy who is calling a day after

I admit I'm a bad RSVPer if I don't do it immediately -
i'mjumping the gun b/c the date is this weekend - So I'm hoping I'll get them either over the weekend or early next week.
I just thought it was odd that I didn't get ANY yet .......
Hopefully most people are not like me, and they just wait until the RSVP date - if that were me, I'd totally forget 
I'm not going to call - I'm going to hope for the best and then suck it up

that is just sooo ****** not to RSVP, that can kill a childs self esteem.
Im not a mom yet but that pisses me off, if I invited adults to a party and they didn't RSVP I would be just as pissed

I think sadly its normal not to RSVP. Happens every year when i plan DD's birthday party, half of them do not RSVP. I always make a couple extra goodie bags just in case, this year i had to kids show up that didn't RSVP. But the remaining never showed so my theory is if they didn't RSVP , they aren't coming.

This happened to me one year when DS was in K. I had 2 people RSVP. I had to call 20 kids! Good thing I did too because almost the whole class came.

I have an rsvp date set for Friday and only 11 out of 29 have called. It's annoying. Adding to the drama is that I know I wrote the wrong date on at least one card. I have a mass email from the class so I am hoping I can match up names with at least some of the parents. The class mom is on DS's tball team so I know she probably knows what name matches with each email. So annoying.

We are in the process of planning DS's party right now. I get such anxiety just thinking about dealing with this RSVP BS. Not to mention, everyone is so busy this time of year its impossible to find a date and time that works for most people.

Omg I am dealing with this right now I have twins both classes invited out of 35 pre k kids 3 parents rsvpd. Maybe 5 kids have told my dds directly if they are coming but I don't know if they really are or not. The rsvp date is Friday. I don't do drop off and they go to after school so I don't see any parents and do cannot be relied upon to remember names if he asks parents I'm lucky he gave out the invites. They weren't allowed in folders after everyone got sick at the last party lol no emails nothing I don't even care about favors I need to know for food

Did you invite everyone in the class?
If you sent the invites to the teacher to hand the out the I would just write a note and have the teacher put the note in each of the kids folder.
I did this with my son's party last year and some did end up responding to the note, but in the end only one person still came. It was horrible.
I will never do parties ever again. We just take the kids away for the night for a gift. No one has consideration anymore. Its terrible.
