Running with PINS & NEEDLES.. does this happen to you?
So all of a sudden (the past few weeks) every time I run, my feet fall asleep, that awful pins & needles tingling feeling & it gets really painful. Starts a few miles into the run and by mile 4 or 5 my feet are so uncomfortable I have to stop. Even walking at that point is impossible, yet the pain goes away right after I stop. Happens both when I'm outdoors or on the treadmill.
I thought it was my sneakers at first, but I've tried different pairs including the ones I've been wearing for months, and still having this problem.. And I've tried tying them tighter, tying them looser, nothing helps. It happens during every run no matter which shoes I wear.
What's going on? I haven't been doing anything different with my runs so not sure what's going on all of a sudden.. any ideas, does this happen to anyone else? When I used to use the elliptical I'd get the tingling, but never when I'd run. So strange and annoying and I'm nervous a little! I can't get in a good run anymore

Re: Running with PINS & NEEDLES.. does this happen to you?
Is it all over your foot or just the heel area??
I guess it could just be due to poor circulation. Do u happen to have wide feet, if so maybe you need sneakers with wide width.?
I wear a size ten....and then i buy sneakers that either have a large toe box or sneakers that come in Wider Width sizes.
Not really sure....but I can relate to how you feel with not being able to get in a good run anymore. I am sure that is fustrating. I would def go see your Dr.

Thanks so much. It's the whole foot, mostly toward the front though, not by the heel. That's a great point about the width... now I'm wondering if there's some way or some reason that my feet might have actually gotten wider lately, if something might have caused that. I also think the poor circulation might be true, I'm kind of worried about that & I think I need to see a vascular doctor bc valve problems in the legs run in my family. Thanks for the ideas!!!!

i have morton's neuroma, which is basically the nerves between your toes getting squished which makes your toes feel numb and the ball of your foot hurt. your's sounds a little bit different but it could be something like that. i just had to put special pads in my shoes and it's fine now. maybe try a podiatrist and see what they say. good luck!
