Sabrina has her first ear infection
I guess I should be happy that Sabrina has gone almost 16 months without ever having an infection of any sort. But today my mom called me at work to say Sabrina had a fever and was very lethargic. She nursed well at lunchtime but had a fever of 102.6. We gave her motrin and the fever went down a bit but went to the ped and she prescribed amoxicillin.
She is napping now and I hope she wakes up feeling better. When we got home she felt cooler to the touch than when we left so I hope that is progress.
Sorry to whine. This is just the FIRST tme she has needed to see the ped and had such a high fever

i think i am an expert now!
Everytime my DS had one by the 2 or 3 does of the antibiotic he was doing much better.
Hope she is better soon

I am sorry for Sabrina!!
I took Ale to the Dr. today too - no fever but she's been coughing a lot. Turns out she has a viral infection on her tonsils - precursor to ear infection usually, and equivalent to strep in an adult. She started Amoxicillin today too - first time on any medication -- she ALMOST made it to a year!

Thanks ladies The fever broke. She was very energetic and ate well at dinner time. Then it crept up again. The doc said to give her more motrin to get the fever down and she suggested not starting the amoxicillin unless DD shows signs of pain tomorrow She thinks it will clear up on its on.
I have more motrin before bed and she was her usual self, just a little wamer.
I hope this was just a quick painless thing and will clear up quickly on its own.

I hope that she feels better soon.
Lucas has had a few since being in daycare so I have to tell you how impressed I am that Sabrina went so long..good for her...but at the same time very sorry that she has to go through it at all.
