Personally, I would go for the amino, then you can possibly know what you are working with either way. But only you and DH know what is right for the two of you. Try not to let it get to you. You always have us to cry to

ok so last night I had a check up and I found out that at our baby girl has 2 cyst on her brain, they are called cloroid plexus cyst, Does anyone else have this show up on there level 2 sono? We have to go and see a genetic cousuler about it, and have sono's done every week until 26 weeks, when it should go away, but if it does not go away, by then she will be born with it, and there is a small chance she will have down's and trisomy 18.... please give me a hope and prayers that this goes away, i have not slept at all bc i keep thinking of her .... Any info or anyone else with this advice would be great for DH and I....

Update 12/7/06
well I went to the specialist today and nothing different, the cyst are measuring about 7-9 mm where they are usually 5 mm. so there is a 1-2% chance in her having either downs, or trisomy, the Dr. asked me about a amio, now do I risk the chances of what happens for that 2% chance? I say no, but Dh and I will have to talk as soon as I get home from work today... Girls i am so lost and don't knw what to do, I do not go for the amio, I will go back in 4 weeks to see if they go away, now all my test came back fine so that is why i am so confused, I am really sad bc this is causing so much stress between DH and I all we do is yell at one another bc it hurts so bad.... I will talk to you girls soon and THANK YOU AGAIN for everything!!!
I am sorry about the update but think about it, 1 or 2% chance is VERY VERY slim. What would having the amnio do, would it change your mind? Would it upset you more if god forbid it comes back positive for Downs? I am so sorry, I wish I could give you advice but you and DH need to stick together and decide what is best for you and the baby...from what I have heard, there is also a SLIGHT chance of m/c with the amnio. I am sorry you are in this spot....FM me if you want to talk

Awh sweetie I am so sorry you are going through this. Right now you will be emotional but in the end I am sure it will bring you and DH closer. You have all the risks laid out in front of you. IMHO if you wouldn't do anything about this (change your course of action in any way) meaning you have this baby and take whatever comes then I would not do the amnio. There is no reason to stress yourself out even more and potentially pose a risk to the pregnancy. These tests can also be wrong...
Sometimes I think all this technology might not be good for us (at least not pregnant women) It is all so scary. We are here for you and if you need anything just say the word...

I am so sorry. I had an amnio and honestly its not bad and I did not feel it was dangerous at all either. We did it to find out if the baby was healthy and if not to prepare for what will be. It may help you both to understand exactly whats going on with your little girl instead of waiting.For us we felt if something was wrong its best to do research, get help, counseling etc BEFORE the arrival. Best of luck to you both.

Nicole I wish I had some sound advice to offer. My best friend went through something similar last month and decided to go for the amnio. The results came back and everything is fine. I think you need to weigh your options and make the decision of what you and DH think is best. I'll keep you all in my prayers and hope for the best.
