Very important to know your way out in the dark. Just in case you can't get to your flashlight. Try it, you should know your home with your eyes closed.

Funny you say this because when DH and I lived in an apartment, I could get up in the middle of the night in the dark and go to the bathroom, kitchen, etc.. with no problem. We are now in our house since Oct and I got up the other night and almost killed myself tripping over the corner of the bed and got a huge scratch on my leg.

This is a very good idea to try it.

Re: Safety in your home, let's see

we have 6 flashlights, 2 of them are wind up where you dont need batteries.
we have a wind up radio.
we have blankets.
Can opener, canned foods.
First aid kit.
A TON of batteries all different sizes.
what I dont have is water or pet food, Im always afraid to store that due to expiration. Last year I had 2 cases of wet dog and cat forgot about it in the garage and had to throw it out by the time I realized I had it stored.
