Re: SCION XB - Chevy HHR

I really (really!) like the Scion XB but it looks too low to the ground so I am worried about the snow. Since we are planning a family soon, we now looking at the Kia Sportage.

What about the new Toyota FJ Cruiser?

UGH ! My Husband is completely In Love w/ this thing ......and I think it's HORRID !! - Although it's a Toyota, sooooo, maybe I'd bend.- I test drove the Scion tc and LOVED it .-it definitely feels 'light' to me though ...I have a friend who drives that funky boxy truck - I personally hate it, but he loves it and has never had any problems .....and he's also not the type to 'take care' of anything, so it's taken a beating -

We are looking at the exact same one. We looked at several colors and I am really leaning towards the white.

Which car looks like a hearse

The PT Cruiser

Back in college I took a new product marketing class and this was one of the products we had a case study on.

It was orginally made to be a new hearse, but funeral homes thought it was too trendy so they made a few changes to the interior to make it consumer friendly and now it's a consumer car.

My aunt has one and loves it.

My sister also just bought the new Matrix (4WD) and she loves it. It gets over 30 MPG as well. Even the new Rav4 gets over 30 mpg & it is not a hybrid.
Toyotas make some great cars.

We have a Matrix- it's a great car, really comfortable. It'll be perfect when we have kids because it's roomy and we didn't want an SUV.

Scion is made by Toyota, so I think you can't go wrong with them. I'm leery of American cars, as much as I try to buy American when possible.

If it makes you feel better the Toyotas (not scion)are made in Kentucky. Chat Icon

The scions are still being made in Japan...so far.

What about the new Toyota FJ Cruiser?

The FJ cruiser is $40k plus

DH just got an FJ on the lot & I looked at it b/c of course he wants it. It was $26,000 and pretty loaded. The only thing I did not like about it is since I have ridden in the Scion I am used to a lot of head & leg room in the back seat, and the FJ just does not have it. You can fit a person behind each seat, and even 2 car seats, but it is much tighter quarters than what I have with the Scion. The MPG was 17/21 on the model we just looked at. There are some special leases going on right now for the FJ if you are interested.

A friend of mine just got a Santa Fe & loves it. I personally love the *weird* cars, like the Element, FJ...etc My fav truck is actually the Mercedes G55....not that we can get that right now, but maybe in a few years once the bills (and the gas prices) settle down a bitChat Icon
