Seasonal Foods and drinks...

All the good season beers are out and yummy fresh apple cider... and we can't have any.

DH bought the Harvest Moon (Blue Moon's Fall Beer) right b4 I found out I was prego and now I have to wait till next year to try. I heard it's so good. Oh, and warm apple cider.

Anyone else missing certain drinks or foods in season now?

the homemade kind that's unpasturized they usually sell at farms or if you go apple picking. You can get the store bought "pasturized" apple cider, but it's not the same... like Tropicana OJ. It's good, but not the same as fresh squeezed not pasturized. My parent's get it at Wegmens (they live in NJ) and it's sooo good....

I swear I must be the WORST pregnant person EVER. I have had all the above and a few cold Corona's along the way in the last 6 months.

Ladies, dont deprive yourself of yummy things. You can have that Soprasatta if you want. You can have a glass of wine. Its all about MODERATION!

You're definitely NOT the worst preggo ever. As soon as I found out I actually got a job---my friends took me out to celebrate and I indulged in about 1/4 of an ice cold beer AND a glass of wine!!! After everything I've been through over the last 5 months---I deserved it! It's ALL about MODERATION.

And, now that I have an income again, I have full intentions on purchasing a six-pack of Shipyard Pumpkin Ale and I WILL have one or two over the next few months.

So, no---you're definitely not the worst.

And with that being said, apple cider is fine as long as it's pasteurized or if it's unpasteurized---it should be heated almost to a boil to kill anything that may be in it. That's one thing I wouldn't mess with (even if I wasn't pregnant).

It's true. Many of the seasonal apple ciders are unpastuerized. I always look (even when not pg) to see if it is. I bought one at Jericho Cider mill last year that was pastuerized.
