Sending out thank you cards after passing due date..WWYD?
I really slacked off on baby shower thank you cards. Its been 1mth since I had my baby shower and Ive just been so lazy in getting the thank you cards done. Now I am actually past my due date. Should I bother sending out thank you cards now or just send out birth announcements once the baby arrives?

Send the TY cards now. Just do it... you're gonna be too tired once the baby's here to finish them. You don't have to write novels. Just write a few sentences in each and how you hope that the baby gets here soon!

you absolutely should still send thank you cards regardless of when you send announcements. i actually mailed my shower thank you and birth announcements in the same envelope (although i had my shower a month after DD was born since she was born the day before when my shower was originally supposed to be).

I just got all mine out and my shower was a month ago as well. Better late than never! My prob is that I write novels and really make them personalized. And I see it totally pays off bc I've received so many thank you's for the thank you's LOL. Novel or not, definitely get something out at least before baby arrives or you really won't have time for them...

I would do the thank yous now and get them done with. They should be separate from the announcement, IMO.

of course you should send them. ppl weren't lazy when it came to buying your gifts and attending your shower. id def get them done asap, since you're overdue, bc you're going to have much less free time once the LO arrives.
a birth announcement isn't the same as thanking someone for a gift, IMO.

I would send out the TY cards as soon as you can. Then of course the birth announcements. Then I had to send out christening invitations and TY cards for that. I had to invest in A LOT of stamps and return address labels!

ITA with this!
Plus, you'll have a whole new batch of thank you'd to send out soon - you're going to get a ton of baby gifts! It's a never ending cycle but it's the right thing to do.
And just a tip - write out baby gift thank you's as the gift comes in. Don't let it pile up & save them all at once like I did...it's the last thing you'll want to do when you have a new baby to play with.
