I've never been to either but I would imagine that if it entails a lot of walking, then it might not be the best idea unless your DH is willing to completely take responsibility of running after your DD!

I was a big, thirsty, waddling mess when I was preggo with DD and had her in August.

I can't imagine being on my feet all day or maneuvering through crowds in that state.

Re: Sesame place at 8 mos pregnant

Sesame place I found was more of a water park, so not the worst idea.

If you go, ask the person when you buy your tickets where to go for the special needs band. (I don't remember what they actually call it) They'll give you a band to put on your wrist where you don't have to wait on the lines for the rides. They'll let your DD go first Chat Icon so you're not in the heat or standing waiting for so long.

Just read the other responses... I was thinking you could stick your feet in the water and be cool in the water.

LMAO- the food there!

oooh I like that idea...
I'm just worried about it being crowded and walking around a lot...I told DH we'd rent one of those motorized scooters for me and I'd run ppl over...he told me if we did he wouldn't be seen with me in public

yeah, maybe it's me, I didn't find SP to be that big. My DD was 2 at the time we went and could only go on the little rides. Maybe that had something to do w/ it.

IF you do go, be sure to get there as early as possible to get chairs near one of the pools. You can always leave and return, that's what we did.

we went last year early in June on a Monday. It wasnt crowded at all!
the park isnt that big so I would think you'd be fine....

never been to great wolf lodge but I personally am not putting on a bathing suit in public at 8 months preggo, so there's my answer there!Chat Icon

ETA: If you go to sesame, try to do teh character breakfast. DS isnt into those characters, but the other family we went with their DS LOVED it! food was ehh but arent they all!

Have fun and take breaks, and get the band! Chat Icon

I vote for no Sesame Place..........it was a filthy, tiny, boring, skanky cr@p hole. I would NEVER go back. Waste of money. Go to Great Wolf Lodge. Much cleaner and nicer. Seriously, Sesame was a HUGE disappointment.

Did you do a Character breakfast? It was only worth it for me b/c my child enjoyed the characters - was in love with them. if he didn't have that reaction, or it was Colin who isn't a huge fan of characters, I wouldn't say it was worth it that young (before they can really enjoy the rides)

DD will be exactly 2.5 then, too young for most of the rides???

Re: Sesame place at 8 mos pregnant

I went in August and I was 8 months pregnant with Tyler.

It was a great time. Of course I was shot at the end of the day, but I would be regardless of being preggo.

Also, they let you cut the front of the lines when pregnant.

Go for it. Enjoy the last time when it's just the three of you! She will have a blast! Chat Icon Chat Icon

See, I didn't think this at all. It was a regular amusement park to me, with some characters walking around.

The character breakfast didn't have 5 star food, but the characters right there was awesome.

The shows were all super cute. So was the parade. For a one day trip it was perfect.

HATED Sesame Place. I thought it was filthy. Also, you can do Great Wolf whenever, you do not even have to wait until you are 8 months p/g. We loved Great Wolf

ETA: we went to Sesame about 7 yrs ago, donot know if it has changed. We stayed overnight and were going to go back the second day. We actually left and went home early. We were with 3 families that ALL wanted to leave early.

It was just so dirty. Everything looked worn out and old. The food was gross and the food places themselves were soooo dirty. They hardly had anyone working there taking care of stuff. Garbage was overflowing out of the cans, bathrooms were nasty, all around the served food was a filthy mess. I don't know, everyone we went with hated it. Totally gross IMO. And on top of everything else, it's SOOOOOOOO small. There is hardly anything to do other than wading in a pool filled with sweat, pee, and god knows what else. Eeeeewwwww. Hated it.

I have never been to SP but we went to GW in Dec. and I HATED it. I was 5.5 months pg and you couldn't pay me enough to ever go back. The pool area is inside and the smell of chlorine was sicking and not just for me but we went with 2 other families too and we all got headaches sitting in there. When you walk into the lodge from the outside the first thing you smell is chlorine.
The rooms were clean, except the walls were super thin. You heard everything that was going on. They did have an outdoor pool area but it was really small.

I would probably do either Dutch Wonderland which has dry and wet rides or Storybook land. Storybook land has no water rides but it is so so shady and super clean. We went in August and while it was hot it wasn't that bad because you could find shade really easily.

We went in September. DS loved it, especially the character meal. The food was awful, but he had a great time. There were plenty of rides for him to go on.

I don't think the park is that big, but if it's super hot out and you're uncomfortable, I'd probably skip it.

Judging by how I feel now (33 weeks), I would say no. I can't imagine walking around an amusement park in the heat, I'd be miserable.

I did it! We were at SP mid-July, Reid was born Aug 19th.

It was honestly ok except for the lazy river (DH went with DS, then I attempted to get on my own. Three adult males needed to help me get on Chat Icon Chat Icon)

Go - it'll be great to spend some alone time with DD just before giving birth!

Wow - this wasn't our experience AT ALL. We were there in 2009 - perhaps a lot changed since you were there, but it was not at all dirty or worn out 2 summers ago.
