Shaving
How do you shave?
I only use water, but someone pointed out that that was really strange. It's all I've ever done.
I use running water and a razor and just shave. I have had few cuts and I don't have much hair to shave on my legs (I have fine / no hair on my thighs).
I'm just wondering if this is really weird?

Re: Shaving
Just water?! Oh no I need shaving cream. And even with cream I still manage to nick myself like a 13 year old shaving for the first time.

Re: Shaving
I only use water too. I have very little, fine leg hairs so it's always been fine.

Same.
For a while, I used a body oil from Loccitane (sp?), and it was heavenly. But, it's so expensive.
ETS: Screw you girls with fine hair on your legs. I'm like a sasquatch.

Re: Shaving
I buy a big bottle of the cheapest Suave conditioner I can find in Target and use that. Works better than shaving cream for me.
And as fine and shittty as the hair on my head is, the hair on my legs is so thick, coarse and dark that I need to shave in 3 different directions and I get a 5 o'clock shadow on them daily!

Re: Shaving
I use intuition blades. The soap is in the cartridge and it's great for sensitive skin. Being that each carriage is $6 each, I shave my legs on the weekend lol!

This! They are the best and so easy! I couldn't just use water with a regular razor I would get crazy razor burn

Re: Shaving
I use bar soap or shower gel...otherwise I would get razor burn! I also use the Venus razors that have the lotion strips...gets my legs so smooth...but after the first 3 times of using it, it's not as smooth.

Re: Shaving
I'm hairy and have sensitive skin. For my legs, I scrub with a poof and body wash first, then use Venus shave gel and use Gillette power glide razor. I have tried every razor out there and they all give me razor burn. This one , so far so good. Under arms and bikini, I use just soap and the razor

Re: Shaving
I recently started using Aveeno body wash but have used cheap conditioner too.
And I can only use $$$ Mens Gillette razors.

Shaving
I've been using cheap conditioner for a while now. I like it way better than shaving cream. I can't imagine shaving with just water - I'd get razor burn.

That's what I use, too. I don't mind just using water but I feel itchy afterwards, even after moisturizing.

Shaving
I always shave in the shower with just soap. I've tried shaving cream and I didn't feel like it gave me a close enough shave and it clogged my razor up.

same for me.
It's like when you see a bald guy with a carpet of hair on his back and chest - so unfortunate.

Shaving
I think bc most long islanders have hard water just water would be rough. We have a water softener and it's such a huge difference I could see not using anything. I use white bar soap that's mostly shea Butter. Sometimes when we're away I have a hard time even with that bc of the hard water.

Re: Shaving
I use either shaving cream or body lotion, usually shaving cream for sensitive skin. I've tried just water, and doing that destroys my legs.

I've been dying to do this on my legs and lip/chin but I am wondering about how often you have to go, if it lasts or you need to go back in a year or so and the pain factor. Oh and the cost for an area as big as the legs

I bought a groupon back in April for $200 for a years worth of sessions. The areas covered were one small area and one large area. I chose my entire face (lip, chin, sideburns - I'm Italian ) as one area and underarms as the second.
When I went for my second session I signed up for the fully body - it was $1400 - they do everything! From your knuckles to your toes and everything in between...lol I am nervous as I have NEVER had a bikini wax in my life, so the idea of being so exposed makes me nervous.
I have had 2 sessions with my first areas. After the first I noticed random hair on my face, but my underarms did not need to be shaved until almost a month later (you go every 6 weeks).
After my 2nd session (right after the 4th of July) I just shaved my upper lip (you can only shave in between sessions - nothing else) this morning. My underarms have yet to see a razor.
The technician told me that facial hair is hormonal so you will see random growth until the 6 sessions (which is what is recommended to see final results) otherwise, the other body areas you will see minimal hair growth right after the first session.
I go to Infinity spa in Astoria.

Shaving
before having kids I used shaving cream. Now I barely have time to shower, let alone shave, so I just shave right after I lather on body wash, before rinsing. Its been working fine. If I don't have time during my shower, I just use water when I get a chance.
