Re: Shingles/Chicken pox vaccine question?
I don't know about that but I do know that once you get the chicken pox you are susceptible to shingles later on (I had the chicken pox when I was a kid and I have gotten the shingles twice, so painful).

Re: Shingles/Chicken pox vaccine question?
Everyone who has CP or gets the vaccine would have this risk, so no difference IMO.
I had CP as a child and got shingles once when I was immunocompromised.

You can get shingles if you get the vaccine or CP.

I believe that either way you can still get shingles when your older. The benefit to having CP and/or getting the vaccine is that your outbreak of shingles will be alot less when your older. I beleive that if you never had either and got the shingles when your older that it can be really bad.

Re: Shingles/Chicken pox vaccine question?
FYI - not a lot of people know this, but there is actually a SHINGLES vaccine that you can get when you are older. You need to ask your dr. about it.

Re: Shingles/Chicken pox vaccine question?
DD hasn't yet reached the point of that vaccine, but the research I did indicates that adult exposure to the vaccine can bring on shingles in adults that have had shingles before.
