Should I leave negative or neutral feedback??
I brought something off Ebay, cost was about $20. About 1.5 weeks went by and no product and nothing from the seller. I contact ebay and open up a case. Two days later I get a full refund from the seller but no response as to why he never shipped the item. So, what kind of feedback do I leave..neutral: because he did refund me back the money or negative: because 1- I had to open a case through Ebay for him to even let me know that I was never going to get the item and 2- because he didnt even have the courtesy to even let me know what happened?

negative what a waste of time
Yea, this is exactly what I though. Going almost 2 weeks waiting for an item that I was clearly never going to receive. It would be different if he emailed me right away and explained why he changed his mind but to let it go that long with no contact? I feel bad leaving neg. feedback because he has 100%positive feedback but I think its totally not right.

I would leave negative because of the lack of communication

Should I leave negative or neutral feedback??
neutral, I'd assume that they shipped and it got lost in shipment, and they credited you back when you reported you didn't get

Negative is the worst thing that you can do, what you give out you get back. You got a full refund, just let it go. This person is going to lose a lot of customers by his own actions.

Should I leave negative or neutral feedback??
I opened a case on ebay once and left negative feedback and ebay deleted my feedback. They told me I couldn't say what I said due to the circumstances. So just be careful in your wording - they did not give me another chance to leave different feedback.

Leave negative feedback. eBay gives you this option so you can give an honest opinion. Don't use names or profanity. Keep it short and simple. Something along the line of: Never received item and a refund was issued after I opened a dispute.

This is ridiculous. I sell occasionally on eBay and if I did this I deserve the negative. You want to give this guy the negative so all of his competitors would stand out.
This seller wasted two weeks of the OPs time. Getting the refund was guaranteed thanks to seller protection. So the seller did nothing here. If the seller wouldn't refund, eBay would anyways.

i think this is harsh. What are you going to accomplish??? No one died from the experience. Big deal! The money was returned. Everyone has to eat at the end of the day. No need to bury.

The point is while this OP may have filed a claim, some other may not have and would be out the money. That's quite a bit of harm and the OP would be doing a disservice to the entire eBay community by not leaving negative feedback.
Negative feedback is absolutely warranted here as the seller tried to keep the OP's money. I am curious what you would think warrants negative feedback. As I said previously not getting the refund is moot because once the claim is filed you would get your money back regardless (even if the seller didn't refund it).

you are making assumptions for the next customer. She did get her money back. Your posts always seem to be about the financial investment and how not to get screwed. Get over it, it's simple. In this case she did get her money back. It's not going to be the end of all eBay-Ian's bc there was a two week situation. If you want to assume, let's say she just got an over the top illness and has 4 kids to care for. Lets feel bad for her. Still gonna bury her???

I am glad you keep a running history of my posts. Yes I am going to give any seller a negative for waiting two weeks to take my money, as would the majority of posters in this thread and people on ebay would. (I'll gladly link some similar threads from ebay seller forums)
Also you really don't know if it was indeed the seller that refunded the money. You are also making the assumption that it was the seller that refunded the money. I have received refunds from ebay that I know ebay initiated the refund. They look exactly like it was the seller that did the refund since you get the same exact "you have received a refund" email from paypal.
It is very possible ebay looked at this case, saw no tracking number was uploaded... and just took the initiative to refund the money to keep the buyer happy. eBay does this frequently on small dollar transactions.
If she was the typical "LIF Diabetic", then a simple note saying "sorry i didn't ship this on time" could have sufficed and avoided a negative. (why am I surprised the diabetic arguement was even brought up)

Can you imagine if everyone felt bad leaving a negative feedback for someone that screwed them because of the "what if's"? There would be no proper feedback on ebay, and more buyers would continue to get screwed. The feedback system is there for a reason.
