silly question...has any moms out there actually make an appointment with their DC's Pediatrician for themselves???

Do peds see adults sometimes???

Just wondering because my doc doesnt open until 1 and I have a UTI and want meds ASAP.

I plan on calling my ped. but dont want to feel stupid for asking them to see me.

I'd never even consider it. Why would you call your child's doctor and not your own? Is the ped also a family doctor?

I've gotten a strep test from the pediatrician when I was there with a sick child, but never gone in just for me. Is your GYN open earlier than your PCP?

I see my ped when I'm sick and the boys have an appt. I don't make an appt. for myself. He is also a family friend so I think he just checks me out to shut me up!

ETA: Only for colds, or earaches. I wouldn't talk to him about a UTI!

you can try either your regular Doc or your ONGYN

For a UTI I've called my OB and he just called in a presciption for me. Didn't even have to go in

While I LOVE Mason's Ped I wouldn't go to her for myself. I don't think I'd look so good on the scale that looks look a train

Wonder if you'd get a lolly or sticker.

Darn, I wish my Doc gave those out

thanks...i wont call. I never thought of calling my OBGYN. Im in some pain and my primary care doesnt open until 1 and I want some antibiotics NOW!!!

I never have. But one time when we were at an appointment for DS the ped mentioned he gives flu shots to parents also, if they should want one.

And another time we were in the waiting room and a mom was paying a bill and I heard the receptionist say "this balance is from when you came in for a throat culture".

So, to answer your question I would say yes, I think some peds do see adults.

For some reason I feel like your DC see Dr. Hitner. Am I right? Because that is who we go to also.

The only thing I have had done at our Ped.s office was the Flu & Swine Flu shots (LOL for a fee).

I would call your OB.

No, I have never done that. I would definitely try your OB if your PCP isn't open.
