It was a 5th grade teacher in an elementary school that wasn't mine so I don't know. The parent who posted about it said if he doesn't get proper action from the district he'll post the teacher's name. I didn't think segregation was allowed in schools, but here we are. It's amazing what fear will do to people's brains. I'm sure this asshole had 3 vaccines coursing through her and was wearing the duck billed platypus mask on, but she's still scared of an unmasked 5th grader. Perhaps she should find a new career or get herself some help.
Nope. Taught my kids to stand their ground. You would have to physically remove them from their seat and then if you were ballsy and placed your hands on them, that’s when we have a problem.

Simple poll about masks on children at school.
The government knows masks are doing nothing to help the spread of COVID. There is no benefit to the public when they go out and someone has a mask on...none. We just had a 30% positivity rate while everyone was wearing muzzles.
At this point masks in general but especially for kids is a virtue signaling BS plot to keep fear instilled and for the powers that be to keep control over the narrative. How can anyone not see through this?
And if there are some teachers that are that scared of getting sick from kids perhaps they need to reevaluate their profession and go look somewhere else.
I'm so ***** done with all of this. My 5 year old had one mask free day at school and she was so happy only to have to slap one on her face this morning for no reason at all.

Are the schools delusional to think we are living like this at home? Not seeing anyone, eating in silence because speaking is bad, staying 6 feet apart from people, not travelling, not seeing friends, not eating in restaurants, not gathering with family? I think about all the stuff we do on the weekends and I think about my DD having constant sleepovers with her friends where 3 of them share a full sized bed and sleep next to each other! And we don't even covid test before or after! OMG! OMG Hochul would shit her pants!!! What would the Superintendent think?
And then this weekend we had birthday cake that someone blew on and we all ate it like crazy psychopaths and I ran around in a dirty gauze mask that I can blow a candle out when wearing and kept pulling it off my face once inside the store and I ate in 3 restaurants and was standing at a bar with no mask on! And I got really crazy and walked from the bar to the bathroom with no mask on because I love to live on the edge like that!
Then I send her back to school on Monday in a mask and she's sitting 6 feet apart and kids are eating lunch on the floor like animals and we play this little game of safety. Don't speak while eating. Until Saturday. Then all bets are off.
Yeah ok.
Can I be your best friend?!
LOL yes! Come over, we can eat some birthday cake that has been blown on and discuss which Etsy seller makes the thinnest, most see through compliance masks.

Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.
It's really getting stupid now. My DD (she's 9) said the other night that she would still wear her mask even if she didn't "have" to at school. I asked her why and she really couldn't express it - but I'm sure it's because they must scare the crap out of them in school.
She said they are doing temp checks again which they haven't done since last year. Things seem to be moving backwards.
I always wonder if these politicians making these "rules" would have a different perspective if they had little kids in school.

Your last sentence.
You KNOW little Johnny or Mary would not have to do any of those things and everything would be lifted ASAP if they just complained once.

Even worse is the CONSTANT testing. I was ALL for testing early on when we didn't know much about COVID and it was a far more scary and deadly virus but now it's gotten ridiculous. I feel like the world has forgotten that there are other illnesses out there that kids can be sick with and we certainly don't test them constantly for those things ESPECIALLY when they are asymptomatic.
My DD came down with a cold on Friday. I KNEW it was a cold having had 13 years of experience as her mom. I kept her home Monday because she was congested and felt icky but my son was 100% fine so I sent him to school. The nurse called in a frenzy that I had to go pick him up and bring my DD to be tested. So my perfectly healthy son missed more insturctional time for NO reason. As I expected, my DD tested negative on both the rapid and PCR and shocker!!!!......... had a cold.
Point is, I'm not understanding the need at this point for quarantines and all of this testing. My DD had to be tested 2 weeks ago as well because she was exposed to someone with COVID, nevermind that she was perfectly fine. It's a waste of time testing healthy people especially when the current strain of COVID seems to be no worse than a cold.
We need to get back to accepting that sickness will happen and it's ok. Even if it's COVID. If my kids are sick regardless of what illness they have I will always keep them home until they are better. That is common sense. I'm just SO tired of racing around to have them tested simply because they sneezed or walked by someone in school who was near someone else with COVID. It's so dumb at this point.
I don't regret getting myself vaccinated and I did my part with the stupid masks but honestly, this is all past insane now. There isn't much logic in many of these rules anymore and even less consistency in implementing them.

But Hochul said when her child was in Kindergarten she didn't want to wear shoes to school and she eventually learned you had to wear shoes to school so that's the same as masks and eventually our kids will just get used to them.

Totally agree with all of this and to go on with the insanity thing, I follow a couple who cruises all the time. They are vaccinated and show you places on the cruises that you can only go to if vaccinated. I am ASSUMING because I have been told that everyone has to be vaccinated that children are not allowed in. Anyway.....we were watching last night and they were at a silent disco. Everyone close to everyone in the ice skating rink. I started seeing some without masks (RCCL makes you wear masks inside). Then the wife had no mask on. They said we have to explain, you are allowed to take off your mask if you are vaccinated. WHAT SENSE does this make if you can still carry and spread the virus AND there are many cases on cruise ships right now and ALL are vaccinated.
I just don't get who these people are that sit around a conference room desk and make up these rules. NONE of them go hmmm...this really makes NO sense at all because this or that....????

I agree. And pediatricians agree too lol as they are so overwhelmed right now with kids needing to test for school.
Bottom line should be keep your kid home if they are sick. I feel this a lot easier now as so many more people are able to work remote (as I know many who sent borderline kids so they could go to work in the past).

I think that people have lost the ability to properly assess risk. With vaccines available to the majority of the population, including school aged children, its time to end masking in schools.
Masks are causing a host of learning delays in children, especially those with special needs. Its not necessary at this point. Cloth masks especially are useless, its just theater.
I hate hearing the "kids are resilient" mantra over and over. I don't want my kids to have to be resilient anymore. 2 years in, people have the tools to protect themselves and I can make the choices that work for my family.
especially the resilient part. No, it's not a child's responsibility to safeguard adults and it never was. This is the definition of insanity. I feel so bad for these kids. They only have a small window of childhood and they've already sacrificed 2 years of it. Enough with this nonsense already.

That's my point too- kids shouldn't be having to keep adults safe. Before the vaccine it was- oh well little Johnny can pass it to an adult who is more at risk. 3 vaccines later I don't want to hear that shit anymore It's not a child's job to bear the burden of protecting adults. Go protect yourself and leave the kids out of it

Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.
Honestly, I don't even think this is true. Kids aren't that resilient, i think they are more prone to keep things inside because either they don't know how to verbalize their feelings or process the emotion/action. It doesn't mean they aren't impacted or that trauma isn't happening to them that may resurface later on.
Hence why so many adults end up in therapy.

100% agree. Adults are responsible for their own health. Full stop. They always have been. There's a vaccine now (as ineffective as it is at actually curbing the spread, this is what they're choosing to stick with so deal, Suzanne). If you need the protection, get vaccinated. Get all the vaccines. Wear 3 masks if you feel you have to. Social distance if you need to. If that's not enough, stay home. Build a bunker. Move to Peru and live in a grass hut off the grid. Do what YOU have to to protect YOURSELF. But stop torturing kids. Saying kids are resilient is trying to make yourself, the adult, feel better about the torture these kids are experiencing. Kids locked outside in freezing temperatures, eating off the floor like dogs?? How is that protecting you, Suzanne?? Adults wouldn't stand for being treated like this, but it's ok to treat kids like this because they're kids?! If they're so worried about curbing the spread, maybe the school staff should be eating lunch silently off the ground outside in freezing temps with no coats. I hear it's hard to catch outside. If you're worried about catching a disease from kids, maybe it's time to find a new profession. Kids have ALWAYS been walking little snot rags. Double masking them won't change that.
I'm so over this shit. STOP TRAUMATIZING KIDS!!! JUST STOP AND GET SOME MENTAL HELP!!!

We already have "covid babies" needing therapy for anxiety and speech issues. BABIES with anxiety! Re: Simple poll about masks on children at school.
“Resilient” til a break point! Many kids seem fine but are they really? Kids can’t communicate exactly how they feel so they often suppress their feelings and emotions especially when they know they can get in trouble, in this case getting in trouble for not wearing a mask or wearing it incorrectly. It’s troublesome we can’t see that.
