SIRM NYC questions
I was looking at their website and it says IVF Cycle dates, and then Jan 11 | Feb 20 | March 19 | Apr 16 | May 21 | June 25 | July 30 | Aug 27 | Sept 24 | Oct 22 | Nov 26 What does this mean?
Also, do you know what their monitoring hours are? Does a lab tech do the monitoring or does Dr. T do it? What are your thoughts on Dr. T? Does he change up protocols if your cycle failed?
Thank you

Re: SIRM NYC questions
I cycled there and got pregnant on my first attempt after three failed IVF cycles elsewhere. I definitely didn't cycle based on the dates listed on the website. I wouldn't worry about that. I monitored in the afternoon because of my work schedule, but they are super accommodating. Dr. T does all the monitoring himself. You will see him every time you go in.
As for my thoughts on Dr. T, I think he's amazing. He got me pregnant on the first try with my husband's sperm when we were told we would need donor sperm. I felt almost hopeless when I went to him and I truly believe he is the reason I'm pregnant. He's a kind and wonderful man, but super smart and up to date on new research. He does not use stock protocols and really created something totally unique for me.
FM me if you have any more questions
Good luck!

Re: SIRM NYC questions
Hi,
I absolutely love Dr. T. He got me pregnant 3 times last year at the age of 44 although unfortunately...old eggs resulted in m/c's. Still and all...he gave me my shot and I feel that he is one of the best Dr.'s around....not to mention compassionate and accessible. As far as what those cycle dates mean, basically, if their cycle date is for instance February 20th, that means that most of their patients will have their first monitoring appt on that date. However, they will have already stimmed for a few days prior. You will have also prepped with BCP's or Lupron or such before that date. They try to keep people reasonably in cycle together although Dr. T will allow you to cycle outside of this time-frame if he is able to. I was always on an EPP so I would first go in on my 6th or 7th day of stims...and that would be the "cycle date" if I was in the cycle. Prior to that of course you have to go in for a suppression check and such...but that is what those cycle dates mean...they will try to coordinate your cycle to have you come in with almost everyone else once you start stims on that date.
As far as monitoring, one of the great advantages of going here is that Dr. T does each and every u/s himself as well as each and every ER and ET. Honestly..I can't see how he can continue to do this...but he does. There are no techs that do u/s's. This however brings up a disadvantage if you do not have a flexible schedule. They only have early morning hours for bloodwork only. Everything else is by appt as Dr. T is the only Dr doing everything. Having done many cycles there I can tell you that they can almost always accommodate you. However..you will not get your appt time until the day before usually. This can be an issue for some.
As far as protocols..yes..he changes them up and I know of many people going there..each of us with varied protocols. Good luck.

Re: SIRM NYC questions
I had a consult with Dr. T last month. It took me a while to make the appt. so if you were considering him, I'd call just in case and then cancel if you decide not to go.
Just from our first meeting, I have nothing but good things to say about him, his office, staff, etc.
With my situation, I need an RE that can and is willing to think outside the box. He offered a couple of different but sensible suggestions for our next step.
Lot's of luck

I have heard of her too. Haven't encountered her yet. Can't promise I'd be nice while hopped up on all the meds.

This is so funny. I was just talking to my DH about liking everyone except one nurse. I assume it's the same one. I love that we all had the same experience.
