SIRM vent- not Dr. T but office- any SIRM patients out there?

I feel like every time I call the front desk, its a project. they don't schedule appts until the day before? How is this convenient?
I just called for my saline sonogram apt and as of 2:55 p.m. Nadine is till working on schedule?

last week of February I asked for a late apt for my post hysteroscopy and they give me an 11:45 a.m. smack in the middle of the morning. So I had to take the day off because Dr.T was so busy that day there was no other appt. fine took the day and made a day out of it since I have to travel into city from Long Island.

Now I am waiting for this apt tomorrow and I'm not sure if they are even giving me a late one even though I requested one and as of 3:00 p.m. no apt yet? I am so frustrated with them already yet I don't want to leave this office because I love Dr. T
RMA was such a well oiled machine and so organized that I am in a living nightmare right now.

DO they always do this with appt's. Wait until the day before to schedule? Its so weird and I hate it but what choice do I have. I'm trying my best not to lose it with them but its so hard.

yes! it drove me insane. it was impossible to schedule my day ahead of time. i ended up staying with them for a very short time because they royally messed up my cycle (started me on meds before getting ins approval). but that and the insurance chick made my life hell.

That always annoyed me but it really depends on how busy he is. I cycled with him in March/April when it wasn't too bad and I always got my appointment times. When you go in, talk to Nadine about it. She's usually very accommodating and really tries to get people their requested times but the beginning of the year is always the craziest time in any RE's office. She always tried her best to work around my son's school schedule and help me. I always appreciated that about them.

Luz answered the phone and said Nadine is still working on the schedule. It is not almost 5 and no call back. when is the latest you have gotten a call?

How are people supposed to schedule work etc around this? Being a teacher is not flexible and I have taken half and full days already for this- which is worth it because I love Dr. T but this is crazy!

The insurance chick is also another one. Coming from RMA they were so organized- I guess there are positive and negatives to any RE office but this is annoying.

I think it depends on what he's doing. If he has many IVFs or procedures, they may be sorting that out. Some days I got the call early and others by 3ish. Never later then that.

I got the call at 4:30 today about my appt tomorrow. Honestly, Nadine has called as late as almost 6pm. They are usually good about my time preference (4pm or later). This is just my 2nd time cycling with them, but the good thing is they really seem to run on schedule.

I have had some issues - they forgot to do saline sono while I was out for ER - nurse told me wrong dose of trigger - and one nurse told me I had to schedule a call to go over IM injections and then when the nurse called I told her I watched their video and she said "that's pretty much it" LOL

Thanks ladies for responses. I never got the call so I e-mailed Dr. T. He is so quick with getting back on e-mail. He said to come in this a.m. at 9:45 a.m. but I said I'm a teacher and I need a bit more notice to take off leave plans. So he said office will call tomorrow and he apologized again.
I get an email from him that he sent to Nadina and his nurses asking them to accommodate the time I asked for. Nadina e-mails me saying that I was on the schedule for 3:45 p.m. and shes sorry I did not receive a call. So I am on for tomorrow at 3:45 p.m.

I know this is different scheduling because Dr. T does all the monitor appts and retrievals/transfers which is great. I just need a tiny bit notice. Its hard to leave teaching for half/full day without plans etc especially during this annoying test time... Anyway Thanks ladies!!!

YAY for clearance. I'm hoping he is your answer. Best of luck.

As for appointments I always asked for the last available. Due to that they always had to call me. I couldn't get there until 4:30 and they like to finish appointments by 4 since he does new patient consults. Before I started with him I made sure he was okay with me coming at 4:30. So I would always ask for 4:30 and they would call and say 5:00 usually even though I got there by 4:30. Sometimes I was seen at 4:30 sometimes after 5. I didn't care because he was accommodating my late request. One time they called and said I and to come in before 3 bc he had a mtg. I couldn't take off so I just went in the following day. For the ER and transfer I had to wait until the day before to find out the times but one was on a Sunday and I took off the other one. Its kinda annoying but IMO its worth it.

Re: SIRM vent- not Dr. T but office- any SIRM patients out there?

He's truly genuine when he talks. I like that he doesn't sugar coat but also gives respect to his patients and most of all- has compassion!! Every RE I explained my case saw it as a challenge and treated me like a lab specimen. No one ever treated me like a person! Even when I explained to him my IF journey starting from my endo, he looked at me and just said how sorry he was that I had to go through all of that at such a young age and how devastating it must have been. I immediately broke out in tears because I never heard a doctor relate to the emotional side of infertility. Then when I got my surprise positive pregnancy test and went in for beta, he met me in the hall and grabbed my hand saying we are all hoping for the best with this (knowing my extensive miscarrisge past).. I just said that I can't believe this is happening to me and he looks at me with those eyes and just says.. "Good things happen to good people and you deserve this happiness".. Again tears!
The office is a pain in the ass with scheduling and I knew that going in but he is worth it because he will try for you as a person, not another statistical win on the SART. I'm so excited got you, ggt08 and I'm going to keep my fingers crossed as always!

That's what I love about him. I feel like I am a person to him not just another patient or insurance check.
He was doing the saline soon and he said that if it looks like there might be any chance of more scar tissue etc. that I'd have to do another hysteroscopy. As soon as he checked he said, Kristi you have won the award for best looking uterus today. It looks great! Ha! I was so happy, I responded, it is an honor to accept that award. :) He is honest and doesn't sugar coat things but when a good thing happens, he celebrates it. And honestly, that voice does me in all the time!!!!Chat Icon
