Re: sitting here crying

The first day alone is the hardest Chat Icon I remember I cried the ENTIRE day, and then some Chat Icon It's scary, and on top of that, you're now alone dealing with this slew of emotions... hang in there, it WILL get better, especially if you make sure you get outside with baby at least once a day.

As for BFing... your little one is probably crying because of digestiion issues, not because she isn't getting enough - is she still gaining weight? Is she still having plenty of poopy and wet diapers? That's the only way to genuinely determine if she's getting enough. If she's having 7 wet diapers a day, she's definitely getting enough.

The reason why many, MANY newborns cry after eating is because their digestion system is immature until about 10-12 weeks, so it pains them once their little tummy starts digesting the milk - this can happen with BF babies and formula fed babies.

So, what may be happening is your little one is having painful gas, or starting to show signs of acid reflux. My daughter had very, VERY bad gas for the first 5-6 months, but rest assure, they usually grow out of it at about 10-12 weeks.

If you are really concerned, check with your ped... and keep up the good work! Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon I am really sorry you feel this way - My son at first would not take off my left breast but like the other girls were aysing you need to relax that is the only way to get the milk supply coming. You also need to try to sleep when your baby does - I know it is really hard I couldn't do it but the doctor said that was good for the supply also. Good luck!!!! try the swing - my son loved the swing and it made him relaxed
