Skinny Taste Recipes, hit or miss???
Just have to say....I LOVE this site and so does my family. I made 3 of her recipes this week and they were all delicious! So thanks to whomever first posted about it
Soooooooo let's share what we've made and if it was a hit or miss. I can honestly say I have not made anything I didn't really like!!
Chicken: Asian Glazed Drumsticks (these were amazing, I used thighs) Spinach and Feta Stuffed Chicken Breasts Chicken and Mushrooms in a Garlic White Wine Sauce Coconut Chicken Salad with Warm Honey Mustard Vinaigrette
Turkey: Sicilian Rice Ball Casserole (this is heavy on the rice and low on the meat imo. I put more meat that the recipe calls for) Greek Turkey Meatballs with Skinny Tzatziki
Beef: Carne Bistec - Colombian Steak with Onions and Tomatoes
Salad: Black Bean, Avocado, Cucumber and Tomato Salad
eta; Up for next week...dying to try:
Lemon Feta Chicken with Oregano with Broccoli and Orzo Healthy Baked Chicken Nuggets with Baked Zucchini Sticks Spinach Lasagna Rolls and not sure what I'm going to make these with but I'll figure something out lol Low Fat Baked Onion Rings Cauliflower Fritters

Re: Skinny Taste Recipes, hit or miss???
Great idea!
Hit:
-Chicken enchiladas -Crock pot chicken enchilada soup -Tuscan white beans with spinach, shrimp, and feta -Oven fried chicken -Coconut chicken salad with warm honey mustard dressing
Miss: -Southwestern black bean salad...it just tasted like something was missing...I added some chicken to give it more of a "base," but it needed something else. It wasn't awful or anything, but I wouldn't make it again without tweaking it. -Sweet barbacoa pork....again...it wasn't terrible, but I felt like it was too dry, even though I followed the exact recipe.

Thai Green Curry Cocunut Shrimp w/ Basil Brown Cocunut Rice w/ Cilantro Light Swiss Chard Frittata Crock Pot Bolognese Sauce How to Make Perfect Brown Rice Every Time
The Thai green curry dish is now a staple. I will never cook rice the old way again, the bolognese sauce is delicious and makes a ton so that you can freeze. The coconut rice wasn't bad, but I really couldn't taste the coconut. The swish chard frittata is very good and you don't taste the swiss chard much.

Everything I have made is a hit!
-Chicken Shiitake and Wild Rice Soup (I omit the mushrooms and it's a FABULOUS chicken rice soup.) -Pasta Fagioli -Greek Meatballs w/Skinny Tzatziki -Asian Turkey Meatballs With Lime Sesame Dipping Sauce -Crock Pot Bolognese Sauce (I have had better sauce in my life...but this was pretty tasty, I make it every so often) -Sauteed Brussel Spouts (Soooooo good) -Broiled Tilapia with Tomato Caper Sauce -Chicken and Cavatelli Soup -Pasta with Italian Chicken Sausage, Peppers and Escarole -Spinach and Feta Stuffed Chicken Breasts -Creamed Spinach (I could eat it as a dip!)

Hit: Rice ball casserole Stuffed cabbage casserole Pasta Fagioli Shrimp salsa
However....I definitely do increase the veggies, garlic, herbs/slices after I make the recipes 1x her way.
But overall I find them to be nice healthy recipes!

Re: Skinny Taste Recipes, hit or miss???
Everything I have made has been amazing....particularly the Bolognese Sauce. I make it for company all the time, and no one knows it's healthy!
The only thing I have made that wasn't good was the Pumpkin Turkey Chili. I thought the pumpkin would give it a nice flavor but it was SO bland. I was surprised, because I have probably made about 10-15 recipes off this site and they are all terrific.

I've loved everything that I have made so far EXCEPT the lowfat banana bread. That was gummy and flavorless and just plain terrible

Hits:
Zucchini pancakes Asian Pork with mushrooms Greek turkey Meatballs Italian turkey meatballs Chicken with wine and mushrooms Asian turkey meatballs Creme Brulee french toast Chocolate chip cookies Grilled Garlic dijon salmon Roasted string beans Shrimp Creole Thai Coconut curry shrimp Healthy Baked Shrimp Loaded Turkey Santa Fe potato skins Turkey Taco Chili Sesame Crusted Chicken tenders
Misses: Buffalo chicken lettuce wraps. Yawn. White Bean Turkey Chili Turkey Stuffed Zucchini Stuffed Cabbage Casserole- was just OK. I'll try it again, but maybe add more spice to it. Dijon Herb Pork Chops. I just don't like tarragon
If you like Skinny Taste, check out this blog: http://www.preventionrd.com/ . I find her stuff more flavourful. Skinny Taste is good, don't get me wrong, but I always have to double the garlic and spices.

Re: Skinny Taste Recipes, hit or miss???
This weekend I made
Turkey Zucchini Burgers-----DELISH! Balsamic Chicken & Vegetables - SOO GOOD!
I dont follow the recipes exactly. I always use more garlic than she uses and if I feel something needs more seasoning, then I add it.

Re: Skinny Taste Recipes, hit or miss???
Things I've made and loved:
--Baked ziti with spinach --Chickn rollatini with zucchini and mozz --Onion, pepper and zucchini fritatta --pepper steak
Things I've made that were just OK:
--santa fe crock pot chicken (it was ok, just bland and something was missing) --asian lettuce wraps with chicken (these were definitely tasty, but I was looking for something different. I would definitely make them again I think)
I've never made anything that was bad from this website.
