Sleeping on Stomach
I put DD to sleep on her back, but she flips over to her stomach.
Is this okay? Should I put her on her back again? I am just afraid of SIDS.

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
I was told its fine to let the sleep on their stomach once they're able to roll back an forth on their own. I was SO nervous when DS started doing it - I would wake up every hour an check on him!!

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
DD has been sleeping on her stomach since she was 4 weeks old...she is healthy, happy, and 11 months old now.....it was just how she slept best....once she was about 4 weeks, i couldnt keep her swaddled anymore, (her arms and legs flailing about....), and so she would wake up everytime she jerked her arms/legs...i tried stomach, and she loved it, and has slept excellent since.....

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
My kids were both belly sleepers. It's definitely something you need to be comfortable with - otherwise flip her over.
Make sure there is nothing else in the crib Mattress is firm Sheets are snug.

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
My boys are both belly sleepers...the minute they learned how to flip over they have been belly sleepers. I never bother them....once they can roll over then can roll back.

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
DD is doing this now too. She seemed comfortable and slept OK, so I was OK with it too. Now she just looks so cute sleeping that way with her head on her hands sometimes. :)

I put DD on her stomach when she was 6 weeks. She had a bad upper respitory infection and I put her on her stomach so if she should cough she could get it out. If she was on her back she might have choked. It worked out better. She loved the belly. And I will probably do the same thing this time around too. I'll switched to the belly when Ayla is 2 months or so.

Re: Sleeping on Stomach
I was afraid of this too when DD started doing it. the dr told me that as long as they can flip onto their stomachs themselves (you arent putting them down that way), that they are ok to sleep that way.
