I LOVE it!!! It lives on my camera. Here are my pictures:

I would invest in the 18-200mm VR. I could not afford that one just yet so I got the 18-135mm.

I have this as well, but i also just bought a cheapy one... Canon Normal EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens to mess around with.

For everyday I recommend the 18-200 AF-S...
In fact that's what's on my D60 right now....
It's a great all around type of lens...it's not cheap ($700ish) but you will find that you use it alot. When I do shoots I tend to switch between cameras instead of switching the lens on my camera. I use the D60 with the 18-200 for "on the go" type of photos...I use my D300 with the prime lenses (35mm, 50mm or 85mm depending upon where we are at) for the more staged type of photos...

18-200mm - I use this the most now & recommend getting it. Most versatile!
70-300mm - I used to use this the most for portraits but now only use it for soccer games.
50mm f/1.4G - indoor portraits

Yes...with Nikon lenses..on the D60,D50, & D40 just make sure it's a AF-S lens...no matter what the lens...

For lack of a more technical explanation. Currently the D40 & the D60 lack a motor to Autofocus the lens..So on the D40 & D60 you need the lens to have the motor in it. You need to have a lens that is either a AF-I or an AF-S
AF= Autofocus
I= Internal Motor
S=Silent Wave Motor
For example I have the 50mm 1.8 AF lens. It is an awesome lens...comparable to the 50mm 1.4 AF-S...the difference is that that lens WILL NOT Autofocus with the D60 and needs to be manually focused. It does, however, autofocus just fine on my D300...

I don't know yet. I just ordered it, along with a new camera bag to hold up to 4 lenses.  I thought about the towel method for a bit, but decided against it.
