This makes me giddy!!! It's been another lame winter so far, no cold and no snow. I'm down for a good storm. The house is stocked with food, pj's are all clean and folded, school is already cancelled for tomorrow, and DH's company likely closing too. I'm ready to go!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS I have no good food in the house but clean PJs and and bought toilet paper today bc of the storm:)

Don't take this the wrong way because I don't mean it in a snarky a-hole way...
But I wish there was a Magic wand that I could wave so that only those who pray/welcome/are happy about this amount of snow get it!! Like literally just on their house and property. Hahahaha
If I never saw snow again, I'd be glad. I don't mind a flurry ... ooooh pretty. But once it disrupts everything - hate hate hate hate hate hate !!!!
I wish DH would move but he refuses.

I agree. Because not everybody can get a snow day and sit home in warm pjs with their family safe. When DH was a cop ge would have to drive 60 miles in dangerous conditions, spinning out or getting stuck in snow drifts on the Belt. It would take him HOURS in dangerous conditions to get in to work. And often he would get held over....more time away from his family. Cops don't get snow days.
And he and I would get angry at the people who loved and wished for the snow...because they would be home sipping hot chocolate saying how pretty it was... because they didn't have to risk their life driving in that shit.
Agreed. I work in a hospital- last time I had a snow day was in college.
It'll probably take me 2 hours to get to work on dangerous roads tomorrow, after I drop my DD off at daycare with white knuckles from squeezing the steering wheel.
Not everyone gets to sit home and do nothing all day because it's snowing.

No need to be snippy. I understand, as do others, that some people have to work regardless but I'm not sure why that means those that don't can't be excited about snow and enjoy it. It's winter, it snows, that's life in NY. I'm sorry you cannot sit home all day, and I hope you stay safe on the roads, but I enjoy a good snowstorm regardless. I love winter, summer can go screw!!

Did you get a snow day? I'm at work and my son had to go to school! The commute wasn't so bad into the city.
Nope, not this go around. The roads by me look mostly wet but otherwise clear. No early dismissal either.

couple of inches. It stopped in queens by like 2:30ish and 90% of it is gone now. It didnt stick to the street here.

I will have more details on storm later.. we have learned that things can and will change. There is still a chance that we can have very heavy RAIN.
This is for 2pm tuesday.. freezing line right on long Island. Makes difference of a lot of snow or to more rain.. too early to tell.

We will be trapped in this house, my anxiety will be through the roof, and everyone will be in crappy moods by 9 am on Tuesday. Have I mentioned that I hate winter more than anything else in the world.

I get into an almost clinical like depression when I am trapped in the house with snow. Omg it's awful

I can't anymore!! I am so done with this weather. I walk around in my bathrobe while my 2 1/2 year old runs around without socks eating brownies for dinner. I can't fight with my kids anymore, I need sun and warmth. I pray for rain and I hope we are done with cold weather and snow!! Last year I put my winter clothes away so early, this year they are staying out till June! I use to live in that mindset that boots go away in March and that has now changed.

It's definitely changed. As a kid I remember it being spring and warm by April. A few years ago we got off a plane from Florida on 4/26 and it was 40 degrees in NY and damp and FREEZING. At the END of April.
I am so cold. I am so sick of being bone chilling cold. It actually hurts. Like I am laying here wrapped in 2 blankets right now with our pellet stove pumping and I am still so cold. My hands feel like a corpse. I just want to feel comfortable again.
