Snug a bunny rock n play overnight?
DS is 6 days old. He slept OK in the bassinet at the hospital, but does not like sleeping in his bassinet at home, seems to not like being flat. He sleeps well in the rnp, but I'm just concerned that when he out grows it it will be hard to transition to a flat service. Any opinions/advice?

DD slept in the RNP for the first 2.5 months. She had no issues transitioning to her crib. If you are concerned about baby not liking a flat surface you can purchase a wedge and put it under the mattress which elevates it. I have one and use it when DD has a cold.

We transferred dd from rnp to crib around 3 months old and she had not one issue... Granted all kids are different... If LO had a prob, you can always put something under mattress to angle it and then gradually reduce incline.. HTH

Brian slept in his RnP until he was 7 weeks and we randomly decided to try the crib. He had absolutely no problem switching. We used a crib wedge too when we transitioned.
I love your profile pic!

At this age, just sleep the baby wherever he will sleep. You have lots of time before he outgrows the RnP, and his preference will change 7454987654 more times before then anyway!

Re: Snug a bunny rock n play overnight?
I transitioned with no issues. For the first week in the crib I put a box under the mattress to elevate but thats it. I did that mostly for DDs reflux but she was fine without it.
ETA we moved them to cribs at 3.5 mo.

Re: Snug a bunny rock n play overnight?
Ds was in RNP for about 8 weeks... then we transitioned to bassinet in pack and play. He didn't love it but got used to it after a few nights... we were going to florida and was going to sleep in that there so we needed him to get used to it at home.
we moved to his crib at 2.5 months and he definitely has not been sleeping as well.... the last few nights he has been back to sleeping 7 hours again tho!

Re: Snug a bunny rock n play overnight?
I had a different experience than the above posters. My DD slept in the RnP for 8 weeks before we transferred her to the crib and it was a nightmare. I used a crib wedge, kept her swaddled etc. the first night she was up every two hours, the second night she woke up screaming five minutes after being put in her crib ALL NIGHT LONG! Neither she or I got any sleep at all that night. I actually think I'll be scarred for life from that night.
It took a few weeks before she started getting any quality sleep in her crib, but we stayed strong and never put her back in her RnP or her swing to sleep at night. Now she sleeps really well in her crib.
She slept so well in her RnP and I thought it was a great alternative to a bassinet (loved the portability of it!) but the transition was so horrible, I'm not sure I'd use it again if I ever have another kid.
