Spinoff to Fisher Price® Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper
I have been so torn about getting this sleeper and wondered if anyone had had (or knew anyone) who had issues with their babies getting flat spots or neck issues from this? It has amazing reviews on BRU but on Amazon there are quite a few complaining about it giving their babies major flat spots or neck/shoulder problems.
Any thoughts?? I think I will post on Parenting also...
Thanks!

Re: Spinoff to Fisher Price® Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper
My SIL does NOT have this product, but her son had a mis-shapen head from always leaning to one side when he slept. He wore a helmet for a few months (and looked really adorable in it). Two years later one of SIL's good friend's daughter's had the same issue (again, just "because" -- not from any item they were sleeping in or anything) and borrowed the helmet for her daughter.
I think it's just something that happens to some children. I'd talk to the pediatrician about it from the beginning, though, since you have concerns.
I don't plan to have our daughter sleep in the rocker full time -- we plan on having her in the newborn napper in the PnP first, then the basinette in the PnP in our bedroom. But I expect her to take many naps in it. I guess we'll see what happens. I also have a baby swing for her to nap in sometimes too. Plus the snuggler head support insert. I guess we'll see what happens!

Re: Spinoff to Fisher Price® Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper
I agree with the above poster it just happens to some kids. My twin cousins had doc bands (helmets) because they had flat heads. My aunt swears it was because she let them sleep in their infant car seats pretty often. Unfortunately, she lives about 2 hours outside of LI and my grandmother was very very sick at the time (passed away a few months later) and it was important that she see the babies as much as possible which meant alot of car time and even more car seat time.
I think babies are going to sleep where they are going to sleep and while we may be able to try our best to keep them from laying on one side too much it's likely more of survival to put the baby where it's comfortable.
I wouldn't stress about it too much yet. I don't plan on having the baby sleep in the infant rocker, but if she's not sleeping anywhere else I imagine I'll take it!
