so annoyed at my hairdresser!

i just need to vent......

i started using this girl about a year ago, only have used her 3 times.

last time i got my hair colored she insisted she put a glaze on my hair since i was going on vacation and going to be in the pool. fine, thanks! i go to pay and they asked if i just had cut color and blowdry and i said yes. paid and left.

yesterday i get my hair colored again and she asks if i have an extra couple minutes to put the glaze on again, so i said sure no problem. i go to pay and this time they ask if i had a glaze and i said yes. turns out it was an extra $35!!!

i didnt pay the first time or bring it up bc i thought it was free since she insisted she put it on, didnt ask, just said she was putting it on.

so this time she did something similar, didnt really ask if i wanted it, just asked if i had a couple minutes to spare since she wanted to do the glaze again!

i am new to this hair coloring world, is this normal!?!

lesson learned, i am not going to ever have it done again. i dont want to stop using her over this bc honestly my hair has never looked better, but her prices are already $$$$ and an extra $35 made my husband flip!!

That would p!ss me off. Its not like its an extra 5 bucks. She should explain the extra costs. I make sure to do that as a nail tech. I know I wouldn't like to get to the counter expecting to pay one price and then being told a completely different one.

This has happened to me too. Once at my current salon, when she made it sound like she was just going to use a stronger conditioner on my hair a the sink. The girl at the front desk isn't so pleasant, so I let it go.

And again at a different salon. One time the stylist was running really late, and the colorist asked if I wanted the glaze since I had to wait. I thought it was going to be complimentary because the stylist was running over 30 minutes behind. I was pissed then too. I was at the salon for over 3 hours that day and I REALLY couldn't wait to get the fluck out of there.

Is this maximus? They are notorious for doing that so stopped going. They make me feel like i have to have the glaze then charge $35+ when you finalize bill.

My salon includes glaze complimentary BUT insists that you *need* a $$$ conditioner every time you color. They say your hair will be like straw if you don't get it. Guess what, one time I skipped it and my hair was fine! It drives me nuts.
