So excited! Need positive vibes!!!
Dh and I love our home, but we bought in the original condition and there's much much much more we need to do to it to make it perfect. We really want CAC, a fireplace, bedrooms upstairs and not on our first floor, etc. etc. etc.... We LOVE our town and homes don't get listed very often in our area since it's a small neighborhood.
Anyway, the perfect house right down the block from us got listed only a few hours ago, and they are doing private showings only. We got an appt. for 3pm on Sunday. Send me some positive vibes!! I really hope this is it for us

Thanks! I'm trying to remind myself that it is more likely that the house won't be what I am expecting, but i'm still hopeful

Sorry to hear that. We saw a lot of duds this weekend too. One we did like, it's in the upper part of our budget, just need to find out what we should bid on it. Needs a new kitchen and a wall taken down to make the first floor flow better. I'm ready to stop looking, suck it up for a few more years in my co-op, and then head to South Carolina for an early retirement.

Oh no!!! I'm sorry! DH & I actually saw a house we weren't going to loom at and of course we love it and of course it's alittle bit out of our price range but we are going to see. It's a completely renovated so we really wouldn't have to do any work besides paint new colors if we want.

Good luck!!
Yesterday was the eye opener we really needed. To be able to see how much people are selling for in our area, and how horrible the condition was of that home, it really sealed the deal for us to just stay put. Our home is worth just about 200k more than what we bought for, so we have so much equity in the house right now. When we bought in 2014, the seller sold to us for way less than they should have. The woman who sold to us was the next door neighbor, and she was in her 80s when she sold to us. The owner of our home had passed away and made her the executor of the will. The next door neighbor just wanted to sell to a nice young couple, so she accepted our low-ball offer and we were honestly so shocked by it.
Because of all of that, it's just a way smarter decision for us to refinance and add 60k. We are going to redo the kitchen, add central air, and do a few other things around the house to add even more value.

It’s brutal out there. We looked for months last summer and eventually gave up. DH wants to start looking again and I’m trying to talk him out of it. I don’t have the energy. He’s freaking out about the rates going up.
Unfortunately, we have to move so we can’t do much to our current house. If it were an option I’d be all over it! I think what you’re doing is a very smart decision.

I completely understand. It's shocking what the houses are going for and the condition they are in!! Good Luck with the renovations!!
