So I can't imagine I had a parent tell me this...
So at the playground I was speaking with a father who was asking if we were thinking of having another child soon. I indicated we were done and the person was surprised since they want more and asked if it was a final decision - I said well I sometimes think of having another but my DH is set on just 2 and I'm okay with that - and the parent said to me "Oh just go and do an opps"...
I was kind of like and didn't quite know what to say...
BTW I should add this is the second time this person has made that comment to me.

That's because you think it's a smart decision to be on the same page as your DH.
I know quite a few people who are OK with "oops" and did it.
Personally I could not do that.

My SIL said that too me once, actually what she said was "get him drunk, that's how we have DC" I was blown away, and as politely as I could said "thank you, but having a child is a decision we make together"

Yes but this was coming from a HUSBAND - that was partly what made me I have heard women say that but not usually father's.

I cannot even begin to tell you how many people tell us that.
DH's partner at work (IN FRONT OF ME) told him how exactly to make sure we have an oops and said that it was how they had #2

My SIL tells me this all the time! For us its been DH who isnt ready for #2 and while #1 was a "surprise" (not quite and oops) I said I wanted #2 to be more "planned" and she told me I really didnt need his approval just his participation...I know she was kidding but I really didnt know how to respond!
