Re: So I finally know the full story of my Brother
I'm so sorry for your mother and your family. My grandmother lost a daughter to SIDS before my father was born. She went on to have 3 other healthy boys, but she never got over losing her little girl. She would often tell me how much she missed having a daughter I always felt bad for her when she got into her sad moods but only now that I have Adam can I begin to grasp how devastating it must have been for her! I can't even think about it without tearing up!!

to your mom and family! i don't think you should worry too much, don't do that to yourself. If it will ease your mind then bring it up at Peanuts next appointment.

I'm sorry Dani
I think Peanut will be just fine! Your brother is watching out for him! I would probably mention it to the ped. though if it will make you feel better.
My cousin had febrile seizures and now at just a little over 4 years old, he's grown out of it. He's had numerous fevers in the last few months and no more seizures- thank god!

Re: So I finally know the full story of my Brother
Febrile seizures are common but there are many causes that could have caused him to go into a coma - not the seizure itself. How utterly heartbreaking for your mom.
Also in case new moms are reading this...pediatricians say NOT to put the child in a cool bath anymore as it may shock the patient's system.

Re: So I finally know the full story of my Brother
Thanks for all the responses... It was just sorta good to finally hear the full story. My whole life my Mom always just said no one knows what happened and left it as that. I never asked questions b/c I knew it must have been hard for her. Yes, all new Moms, don't take anything that the doctors told my Mom to do back in the 70s....times def have changed. I was talking to my DH about it, and I can't help but wonder if that happened today, with all the technology that we now, would they have been able to find a reasoning ..?... We always think of how different our family would have been if he was still here. I really wish I was able to meet him. I know he's looking down on me and my Peanut with my Dad now...so that comforts me...always did
