So, I'm insane and decided not to get DD Big Girl Furniture yet....Does anyone have a crib from JCPenney?

So after looking for furniture for 2 months for DD (online), I decided to wait a few years. We cam make do with what she has and in a few years get her a new set. She has NO interest in a being in a bed right now, so why push it?

So...I think I am just going to get another crib and a changing table for the new baby but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

Does anyone have a crib from JCPenney? Do you like it?

I don't think you're insane, I wouldn't be switching her over either...the longer my DD stays in the crib, the better for ALL of us

My friend just ordered her nursery furniture from JCP...I can find out tomorrow exactly which set it was. They set up the dresser and said it was very nicely made, sturdy, etc. They haven't set up the crib yet.

I ordered our DS furniture from JCPenny.

this is our set:

WE Got the matching dresser and changer and saved 10% When we opened a JCPenny account.

the drawback is that you cant see any of it in their stores, its catalog only. They have wood swatches in store so you can see the different finishes.

I will say the set we ordered is great quality wood. DS isnt in the crib yet but will be hopefully soon. I had no problems ordering, all the pieces were there (although the crib was backordered so we made 2 trips to pick it up), and fairly easy to assemble. (although our handy man did it and he said the crib was a little weird to put together, but everything else was a breeze.)

I highly recommend ordering from there.

You are not crazy-I was so nervous moving DD to a twin bed. It wasn't a terrible transition, but if you want to put it off for a few years, I can totally see why. The longer you can contain them the better-We just didn't want to spend the money on another crib set.
If you can stomach that, then go for it.

My niece's crib is from JC Penny and it has scratched up a bit but I think that is because the set my brother/sil bought is pine and that is a soft wood. The dresser/changing table is fine.

DD's big girl furniture is from JC Penny and we've had no trouble so far.

I don't think you're insane at all.
I don't have JCP stuff but I've only heard good things about it and they usually have consumer reviews so I would just read those before buying.

I really didn't want to buy another crib, but every time I mention a big girl bed she says "no, i like crib" and when i read her Big Sister book to her and get to the big girl bed part she says, "No Mommy, I fall Out." She is quite the chicken though!

I'm was also driving myself crazy trying to get a big girl set that would last her forever and at 2 years old, it's so hard to anticipate what she will need. I figure in another 2-3 years we can get her a set. Her existing crin converts to a full, so when she's ready we can make the transition.

So, I am just going to suck it up, keep her existing furniture (which was mine as a kid and I have never liked ) and get the DD#2 new stuff that isn't uber expensive.

I orderd DS's furniture from JCP and I love it! It really nice looking, sturdy, was easy to assemble and most of all inexpensive! We got the crib, dresser, changing table/dresser, bookcase, and toy chest.

I have the Bella crib and dresser/hutch from JCP and I LOVE it!! It has a rail I can put on so it will be his "toddler bed" hen he gets a little older. Bella Crib

I don't have any advice about JCP furniture but I don't think you are crazy! DS1 (3 yrs, 3 mos) is still in a crib! When DS2 was born, we bought DS1 new furniture and moved the "nursery" furniture into the baby's room and borrowed a matching crib from a friend who was done with theirs. We JUST bought DS1 a new bed that matches his big boy furniture.

I have two cribs from JCP that have been fine for us. I purchased their bedroom dressers off CL for $25 for both and my DH painted them.

Ours are wood with a drop side and they are just fine-nothing fancy but the bedding really makes the room anyway IMO

I have all jcp furniture for dd, the crib which turns into a bed, dresser and toy box. The dresser even came assembled! I am very happy with the quality, not top of the line stuff... but it is perfect for dd and I see it lasting a long while even with her climbing on in and being tough with it. The price can not be beat. I bought the disney line which they no longer carry (pics in my house album) at jcp.com but I have been seeing it on overstock.com.

I got our crib and dresser from JCP when Nate was born. 4.5 yrs later it's still in great shape. Jay is using it now and is not in a rush to get out of it.

I didn't get DD's crib from there, but her Dresser and Changer were from JC Penney, and I Love them...they are really sturdy pieces, and seem like they will last a long time....

I don't think you're crazy. I did the same thing.

I ordered the "Tori" collection from JCP in white. It is a really nice quality, and was only $1200 for everything.
