SO. ITCHY.
My skin is soooooo dry - its out of control. I usually have dry skin, but never this bad!
I use Eucarin daily, all over my body. I've tried Aquaphor, but its just too greasy and doesn't moisturize any better than the Eucarin (IMO).
Anyone have anything better?
TIA

I ahven;t found anything better than Eucerin. Some vaeline intensive care is good. If it's really itchy I use cortisone.

What is the temperature of your room when you go to bed at night- do you put a lot of comforters on you? I find that if the room is too hot or I have too many blankets on I am very itchy!

Re: SO. ITCHY.
therm is set to 66
and use 1 breathable down comforter
Rich thinks its funny that I'm so itchy...I'm debating wearing cotton gloves to bed tonight, because I've been scratching soooo bad while I'm asleep - I woke up with bleeding arms and legs this morning.

Re: SO. ITCHY.
I was going to post about this to see if it was true. Maddie has extremely dry skin. She wont' let me put moisturizer on without throwing a fit so I go in when she's sleeping to put it on.
My sister (health food fanatic) told me to stop letting her have so much dairy to clear it up. Sorry to hijack but has anyone heard of this?
eta. I've been using Shea Butter - after 2 night of it, she's usually a lot better.

Re: SO. ITCHY.
There's this new Gold Bond anti-itch cream that works really good. I picked it up at Super Stop-n-Shop.

Most people are at least somewhat allergic to dairy. My friend was stdying homeopathic medicine and she told me to stop having dairy bc of my dry skin. it did help, but I am also allergic to dairy. I'm not sure what the exact mechanism is.

OK. try Gold Bond Lotion.. in a yellow bottle. I swear by it because I have such itchy skin in the winter. I told my MIL to use it and it worked wonders for her. HTH

Re: SO. ITCHY.
I bought and used the Gold Bond----I forced myself to get past the smell...and then it didn't even work so well for me. That's why I went back to the Eucarin.
This sucksss!

Re: SO. ITCHY.
ok this is what I do in my as my daily routine. I use aloe vera body wash. When I get out of the shower and am damp I put on a mixture of Nivea creme, aloe vera juice from vitamin shoppe, cocoa butter, baby oil. It's my own concoction. I think I've only had dry hands 2 times my whole life.
Yeah, I'm crazy. I know

Re: SO. ITCHY.
Try a humidifier. We use it when we have colds, and it helps my dry skin, too.

I suffer from eczema. My dermotolgist gives me an rx, but a great alternative is COrtaid. It will relieve the itching and burning.
