So MAD at Ped office.

My DS has been sick since Tuesday, fever of 105, ear infection, vomitting, etc. He was back at the doc yesterday and he was cranky while we were waiting so I asked if there was a room where I could nurse him and they say no. Finally one of the docs over heard me talking to the receptonist and she finds a room for me. He is 11 months old.

Fast forward to last night. I start calling the office service at 9:30 and keep getting a recording that says your party can not be reached at this time. I decided to take my DS to PM Pediatrics where he had to get IV and blook work done. On my way home, just for my own info, I try the office again and get the same message. This was at 12:30 am.

I follow up and make a call to the office at 9 this morning and 3 and 1/2 hours later and still no call back. I have called 2 times already and they keep telling me there is only one doc on and she is trying the best she can to call all the patients back.

I think I am just venting and looking for some advice. Am I wrong for being mad??

No you are NOT wrong for being MAD!!!! That is not acceptable!!!!! I would let them know my feelings in person when the office opens back up. I hope that your little one feels better.

I would be furious. I would seriously consider looking for a new ped.

that is rediculous... my sil had the same prob with hers.... iwoul try taking to yur ped in person... once when i was trying to get in contact with my opthomologist (i see a ped one for double vision) i tried calling because i got chemicals in my eye at work and he never returned my call.... well when i finally got to my appointment i spoke to him about it and he didnt even know there was an issue.... he spoke to his office manager right ther infront of me about the issue... and the next time i was tehre the staff was all new....

I hope your baby is feeling better I had something similar happen to me this week, and for some reason I think the dr never got the message. But yours is much more serious. I wonder if we go to the same office.

with a fever of 105, and no call back for hours/days....

I would be finding a new ped IMMEDIATELY!
