So we installed a ceiling fan in the baby's room today...

Initially-- DH didn't want to get a ceiling fan cause he thought it would be too much $$$ and we didn't think we could do it ourselves... but, I talked him into it because I didn't want a fan taking up space anywhere.

There is already a ceiling "outlet" with a cover on it all ready for a fixture, and there are two additional switches in the room-- aside for the light switch for the recessed lighting.

We get the fan up, and installed-- all by ourselves (thank you very much!), and then we go to see which switch controls the fan... and, neither of the extra switches do!

Why did the builders have the foresight, to leave a connected spot for the owners to install a light fixture or fan-- then FORGET to hook it up to the light switch???

It's no big deal, but it makes NO sense and is a little annoying to have to use the string to turn it on.

Anyway-- the fan is there, I am happy. SIDS occurrence is now reduced significantly. Done. Did the experience prove once again that other people are idiots-- yes!
