so when should i take the leap?? UPDATE- MORE ADVICE PLEASE

k, hannah tells me when she has pee pee too (in the tub, tonite, she stood up, said peepee, and went...and then after the tub, shes naked running around, goes into the kitchen, shes quiet, and then says mama peepee, and i walk in and she points to the pee on the kitchen floor)...and she tells me doodie too, usually right after she goes...

i know she is only 19 months...but should i take this leap in another month or 2? maybe 2/3 months? i am SO not one that needs her to be trained or anything like that, and i def dont want to push her, but she is def becoming more and more aware of her bodily functions (esp when she literally PUSHES out a fart and starts to laugh after)...!!

UPDATE-k, i hear a lot about not bothering with the little potty and just going right into her sitting on our potty (modified of course, and with a stool for her to use)...only because why make another transition from little potty to big potty?

k, so where should i get a stool and the modified thing to put on my toilet seat?

It's never too early to start, just don't have high expectations and just go with it.

I didn't get my boy trained until he turned 3, so I am hoping its true when they say girls train earlier. I plan to start with Lauren this summer.

If she's showing you then I would have a potty in the bathroom. We have had one since he was 18 months old. He tells us sometimes and doesn't use the potty but he's starting to show interest.

He has sat on the potty clothed and went poopy and then told me. I thought that was a good direction. Trust your instinct but don't force the issue. Just make in known that she has her own potty and can use it.

I don't thnk it is ever to early to start. If she is showing sign, I would go with it.

I say if shes coming to you and telling you, then why not try potty training. If it works then great, if it doesnt then you can just stop and wait a bit longer.

My friend's DD was trained by 20 months. My mom swears I was potty trained before my sister was born when I was 22 months old.

I would start now, but is she telling you before she goes? Julia was great for letting me know when she went pee and poop from a early age, she just has to let me know before she has to go now, and then the potty training will be very easy!
