Don't gimme that, you skinny CR
In my PERSONAL OPINION, I *think* its a great way to honor ALL the victims of 9/11.

I dont think I want to go and see it, how many more movies do we need about this? it is hard enough for the families, they dont need 10,000 different movies about the same subject...

I probably won't see it, but what scares me is now that there is one others will be more inclined to follow with their own movies and thats not right!!

I don't think we will see it in the theater. I would rather watch in on DVD so I can go at my own pace.

Serious question...
How many of you have watched Titanic?
How many of you have watched Schindlers List?
It is the same. Believe me, my brother narrowly escaped the collapse of Tower 2, but this is reality, and people are going to make movies about it.

Re: OK, It opened yesterday. So who has seen United 93 already?
I don't think I would go to the movies to see it but may rent it when it comes out.
Can I ask a ??? though - what is difference between a movie about 9/11 or when they made Titanic - which was also a huge tragedy? Would you still be opposed to the movie if it was done 30 years from now? Do you just think it's too soon?
I can watch footage from 9/11 over and over again. For some reason I become obsessed with it and I guess that it also may be comforting for some people.

I think it is different actually. I wasn't there when the Titanic went down and I wasn't there during the Holocaust.

Diana, I am enthralled by 9-11 shows. I watch them whenever they are on.
I agree with you 100%

To answer the original question, I won't see it in the theater but some day I could see myself renting it.

My DH thinks there is something wrong with me. If there is anything on about it I am mesmerized. I think the fact that it even happened is kind of still really shocking. It seems like a bad dream.

But Dags - both of those were still major tragedies. I'm sure when those came out there were people who were affected by the actual occurences first hand in some way.

Re: OK, It opened yesterday. So who has seen United 93 already?
The difference is my life wasn't even slightly affected by the Titanic - not one bit. To me its a story about something that happened in history - and really the majority of that story is a love story, the ship only sinks in the last 10 minutes of a 3 hour movie. For me personally, watching the Flight 93 movie builds up to what I know is going to happen - to bring back what that day was and for me I don't think I could watch it yet. I cry hysterically when I see any coverage or stories about 9/11 and I'm not about to pay $10 to sit through a movie where I'm going to cry and be upset. Like I said I may someday rent it but I'm not ready to yet. I do think its an important story to tell and I understand a lot of the families went to see it and for that its good, but for me personally, I don't want to see it.

Re: OK, It opened yesterday. So who has seen United 93 already?
personally, Titanic for example, I dont see it happening again... the events of 9/11 I can actually see happening in the future, and it scares me... I can actually imagine me or someone close to me being on that plane and I just dont want to think about it...

Absolutely but I think you are affected differently if you live through a tragedy than if you just hear about it. Were you affected by the Titanic going down?

Re: OK, It opened yesterday. So who has seen United 93 already?
I def. understand being upset by it and not being ready to see it. I do also think that in some way it may be comforting to some people.
There was a movie about one of the flights on A&E or something and they had the families discussing what heroes they were. I think it must be comforting to know that these poor people didn't go down without a fight.
