Solid Q? Anybody skipped cereal?
Ped gave us the ok to start with oatmeal 3 weeks ago, but DD doesn't seem to like it much. I have given her sweet potato by itself before, and she seemed to like that much better. Anyone skipped cereal all together, just went straight to veggies & fruits?
I know some people put a little cereal in the bottles (my mom said she did this with my bro & I), how much should I put? Is there a ratio?
TIA.

cereal in bottles is a chocking hazard. Most Ped's only recommend it for babies with reflux.
We skipped baby food all together and went straight to soft table foods when my DD's were 7 months old and 8 months old.

We did. He hated cereal but loved fruits and veggies.
We went right to them. At 2 he's a great eater.
He still loves his fruits and veggies!!

We mix the cereal in with the fruit and veggies, and have from the first day. They don't seem to mind. I tried giving them plain cereal once and they didn't like it at all.

Re: Solid Q? Anybody skipped cereal?
I would try to keep introducing it and try rice, oatmeal and barley - it's very nutritional for them. Mixing with a fruit and formula or BM should help too.
