Re: some info about beyonce's hospital stay
The complaints have begun: Bed-Stuy dad says Jay-Z & Co. turned Lenox Hill into private club
Having a baby in the NICU is an emotional roller coaster in itself. I cannot imagine having twins in the NICU & being stopped by Beyonce's security. I'd be furious.

Yep, I don't know what kind of recourse they are entitled to, but the hospital ALLOWED Beyonce's posse to run the place, so they should be held accountable. Disgusting!!

They are very private people, why is this surprising to anyone? They don't owe anything to anyone and I admire the way they protect their PRIVATE lives. It is refreshing compared to most celeb attention whores.

Re: some info about beyonce's hospital stay
I completely agree...it's unfair to rent out the whole floor of a hospital. It's not a 5 star hotel...it's a HOSPITAL...paid for by tax payers money...FOR THE PEOPLE!!! Privacy sure...but there is such a thing as just having a private room with security guarding the door. what they did was careless and unfair to others.

I agree with this, and I LOVE Jay and B! Jay is one of my favorites when it comes to music, but I don't think anyone should be stopped to see their babies. That's completely unfair.

If I had that much money and was that famous believe me when I say I'd be doing the same thing. Good for them, they deserve the privacy in a moment like this!

Dh works at LH and for weeks they've had people working on securing & preparing a path for her to be unseen by the public. Glad they had a healthy baby.
You mean for her and her surrogate, so no one will see her?
I'm not sure what I believe about her pregnancy, but if I had that much money, I would have just paid a staff to come to my home and deliver there.

Re: some info about beyonce's hospital stay
if they were so concerned with privacy and had that much money they could have easily paid to set up a medical facility right in their very own home...instead of inconveniencing a bunch of other new parents. What they did sends the statement that their baby and themselves are more important than any of the other "simple" people who were in that hospital giving birth during that time. like I said before...they could also have had a private room with security guards at the door making sure nobody had cameras or entered the room unneccessarily. What happens if the other rooms of the hospital were full...they'd send people somewhere else because BEYONCE is having her baby and needs the whole floor? sorry...but unless her vajayjay is that big...she doesn't need the whole floor.

Look, money talks. They can afford to do so and were permitted to do so that's what they did - stinks for the other people in the hospital, but these are the breaks. Can't get mad at the truth

ITA...even JLo didn't do any of this.
And can anyone tell me why Beyonce was delivering in NY?

The hospital should have NEVER allowed this. Let's say the man whose infants were in NICU (who was not allowed to go in b/c of her bodyguards at some times....), what if one of them passed away and this man was not allowed to see them before that due to Beyonce's inconveniences to him? How is that something a HOSPITAL can allow? POOR POOR JUDGEMENT on their part to allow a hospital to be treated as a private club.

then whyd you open the thread and takd the time to post if you dont care... You dont have to act above it all if the rest of us enjoy talking about it and having some fun with the rumors...
Anyways... I agree this is overexaggeration of privacy and mistreatment of other patients... Are they the first famous people to give birth in a ny hospital? Or just a hospital in general? I think its ridiculous that they had to have an entire floor... And it is ridiculous the hospital allowed it, but all they see is ... Its sad but true...

Why not? Don't they live there?
I love Jay but even I think this is a little out of control. However, I think the hospital is to blame for allowing this to go on. I'd be furious if I could not see my babies in the NICU.

This is what I heard on 1010 this morning and if it is true it makes me sick! As a mother to a baby who was in the NICU I would have lost my mind if I couldn't see my premature daughter because Beyonce and JayZ were there. Seriously, that is just ridiculous and they need to get a grip .

I was just about to post this very same thing! Have a private home birth--people do it all the time. They don't even need to set up a huge private medical facility.

If you plan to have children--believe me--you will be singing a different tune once you're in the hospital post-birth. It is a very emotional and fragile time, and I can't imagine being treated like a zoo animal just becuse I didn't have as much money as another patient.
My SIL gave birth at the same time as JLO in North Shore Hospital and the hospital handled it quite well.

Re: some info about beyonce's hospital stay
I totally feel like if they wanted that much privacy they should have done a home birth and had medical staff taken in --- or rented out some kind of more-private medical facility. I just feel like there are so many other pregnant women and it sounds like many of them had their birth scenarios hampered by this whole event.
Taping security cameras? That is the part that bothers me the most. Security cameras are in place in L&D and maternity wards for a reason --- to protect the babies going in and out of the hospital. What if someone switched babies at birth or kidnapped babies during the time when the cameras were taped? Yea, it's a long shot, but it could happen and then there were no video records of it all because of Beyonce and Jay-Z?
