Some questions about wisdom teeth

I have one that has been coming in for the past 3 years. Every few months it would bother me and then go away. It is happening again but this time it very uncomfortable and DH thinks I need to have it removed. Of course I am so nervous if this is the case. So I have some questions.

1.) Does regular health insurance cover oral sugery or is that cover under dental? If it is covered under a dental then how much would it run to have it removed without dental insurance?

2.) About how long does it take to have 1 removed?

3.) What type of anasthestic do they use and is it safe for me since I am nursing?

4.) How would know it needs to be pulled?

Dental insurance. Cost depends on whether you get knocked out or just use novocaine. I had novocaine and I believe mine would have been $300-400 for one non-impacted tooth.

2.) About how long does it take to have 1 removed?

If non-impacted, usually less than 10 minutes with no complications.

3.) What type of anasthestic do they use and is it safe for me since I am nursing?

They would probably advise novocaine.

4.) How would know it needs to be pulled?

Go see your dentist or oral surgeon, but if it's giving you discomfort they will probably advise you to get it pulled. It may be getting infected, which is what happened with mine.
