Someone reassure me- decided to go with Continental Home Loans...
I'm so nervous. I priced out at least 5-6 other providers and am down to Wells and Continental with the best fees (rates are consistent and with each day seem to uptick!).
From what I read on this site and the comfort I get from knowing that Continental is right here on the island, I am going to go with them....
Any recent experiences? We are SO close to purchasing our first home in beautiful Carle Place, I really need to be able to rely on a lender who will deliver in a timely manner.

Thank you, I am working with a different person but like that I can reach her or her boss at any point during the day. It feels like I'm working with a true "team" you know?

Thanks so much We are lifelong Queens residents (Bayside) and fell completely in love with the community- so quaint! I can see why you haven't left.

Each team at Continental is different and some are better than others. As long as you are using someone from a recommendation you should be fine! Good luck to you!

I have closed several transactions with Continental (different loan officers, different locations), and they've all gone smoothly. I have one now and I've been happy with how things have progressed.
I generally think you are better off with a specialty mortgage bank versus a large commercial bank, but of course, the people involved do play a big role. Like any other profession, there are good mortgage loan officers and not so good ones.

I know lots of the loan officers there- I have never had an issue with them
most agents are happy to work with them- they are easy to work with, in house underwriting and they are flexible on c/o issues
if you want to FM me the LO name I can tell you if I have ever closed a deal with them
