spanx?
Do you wear it? I never have but I have this dress that is a bit of a form fitting knit and while it looks great from the front, i checked it out from the back and  .
I feel like it clings to everything and not in a good way. Back fat, arm pit fat, you name it. I didn't even realize I had such things until I put this dress on. I was like um, where did THAT come from? 
The dress fits fine, it's not that it's too small, if I went up a size it would be too loose everywhere else... but I just do NOT like the silhouette from behind.
It just needs something to smooth everything out I think.
Would some kind of spanx help this? If so, what kind?

Maybe it's not your dress at all but the undergarments? I've done the same- a bra and underwear feel like they fit fine until I put on something form fitting then there's muffin top and armpit fat and all this awfulness. I got a GREAT pair of no line underwear at Target and they are my go to for under dresses/leggings like this.

Then I bought a bra with a larger band, same cup size. It's made all the difference. I just can't do spanx I find them so uncomfortable, especially since it sounds like you'd need something like this:

I've tried so many different types of Spanks and don't love any. I always end up with dents or lines. I feel like you always end up seeing where they start and end.

It is either Shape My Day or Slim Cognito...they are both the open bust and thigh coverage, I'm actually not sure which one I have. I'll see on mine if I see any style number. They are pricey, I found mine at TJ's I think. Also, fair warning, using the restroom is a challenge, beacuse you have to use the pee hole! I figured out how to do it without peeing on it though!

I have spanx and only wore them once. Then bought that body suit thing posted above and that went right back to the store.
I won't buy a dress that's isn't 100% flattering from all angles. I'd rather keep searching for something else then put myself in any of those torture devices again. Even light colored jeans... A few years ago there were showing pastel skinny capris. Showed every dimple on the back of my legs. Woman in dressing room overheard me and said she wears them with spanx. no thanks ... I'll stick to dark colors or looser fitting pants.
I hate feeling restricted lol

OMG I posted a thread on here last year about white skinny jeans. I said it made me have cellulite in places were no cellulite exists. Like my ankkes! LOL
You are right, it's sad, but true....it's amazing what us women do to try to wear something!
