SPD?

It's the worst. I was never officially diagnosed but definitely experienced it. I could literally feel my pelvis pop. I couldn't put on pants or take them off without sitting down bc I could not lift my leg high enough without feeling immense pain. It went away immediately after my first was born but I still feel stiffness on occasion after my second.

SPD?

I def had it, but was never diagnosed. I was always told that it was "normal" pregnancy pain. But, I knew it wasn't normal. The best way I could describe it is that it felt like my legs were being pulled apart like a wish bone. It was so painful.

Same thing... "It's normal". No. Wishbone is exactly how I described it. To roll over at night, I would wake up, sit up, and slowly rotate myself to the other side. Any sudden movements were too painful.

Glad I'm not alone on this one. Rolling over in bed is terrible, it takes about 5 minutes of slow movements to not irritate it. I feel you on putting pants on or shoes for that matter.

SPD?

I just got back from PT to treat it and already it's feeling better. I am not okay with just dealing with the pain though.

She did a few "adjustments" to my hips and then gave me a simple exercise to do. Basically it's doing wall squats with a ball squeezed between my legs. I sat agaiinst wall and then stood up, all while squeezing ball. She felt my public bone and could feel where the pain was and then did the adjustments and all, and it was already better.

The good news is that she says it gets better if you treat it. Maybe google exercises to help SPD? I personally refused to deal with pain. I had it a few weeks ago, then it got better, and then I slipped this weekend (basically into a split) and was back to square one.

SPD?

I was talking to my dr about this yesterday because I swear I have a minor case of it. When putting on my left pant leg I am in in excruciating pain, I feel a constant tightness in my female parts and my inner thighs. Getting out of a car, or in and out of bed is a chore. The dr said he doesn't think its SPD but regular pregnancy pains. Whatever it is, it's terrible.

Can I ask where you went? Did you ask OB or is that not needed?

I am in so much pain, like a wishbone previously mentioned. It takes me forever to get our of bed or roll over. It's so painful and not normal for me. I never had this with previous pregnancies.

I would recommend seeing s chiropractor who specializes in seeing pregnant patients. I didn't have this particular pain but my Chiro helped relieve my sciatica during pregnancy and it helped so much. She gave me all kinds of stretches to do at home too. I know she sees patients with your condition too.

Had this, it is the worst. From about 24 weeks on, my OB said the only thing that would cure it was delivery. The good news is that as soon as that baby came out, the pain was gone!! Of course then there was other pain to deal with, but I could walk again!! Hang in there!

I go to a PT in Manhattan, not sure if this is feasible for you. But it's really about seeing a PT that specializes in the pelvic floor. It looks like this one does http://www.lotusphysicaltherapypc.com/

Re: SPD?

Ladies! This exercise with the ball is one of the ones I do with PT, but we have me stand up from sitting position and sit back down with the ball still squeezed. These exercises definitely do help.
