Speaking of playdates...
I live in Centereach and I have a male field spaniel that gets along with everyone human or canine. Anyone close by that has a dog with a similar personality that wants to start having playdates? Riker has a few doggie friends but I would love to find him some more.

First off, Riker is friggin adorable. I love all the pics of him in your album!!
We're in St. James, not too far at all. Do you have a fenced backyard? We don't go to dog parks since the Mastiff almost bit me (among other instances) and we've just seeded our backyard so it's not dog friendly right now!
Brinkley and Ginger love to chase, play bitey face (which is not everyone's cup of tea!) and fetch.

Re: Speaking of playdates...
Thanks! You are close and it sounds like your dogs like to play in the same manner as Riker. I took him to a dog park once and he got pinned a few times which made me crazy especially since the owner never came to take him off Riker. Riker will not fight back although I wish he would just a little. He's too much of a mush. We have a large fenced in yard. We seeded about a month ago and Riker has only been allowed back on it since yesterday. My husband is talking about putting down some other stuff...I don't know much about it. I am not sure when he is going to do it. Once he does it I don't want Riker back there for a few days of watering to make sure it seeps in the ground even though DH says it's safe. (I'm a little nutty about that kind of stuff.) I think it would be great to get our dogs together!!! I will find out from DH about the other stuff going down and maybe we could work something out soon.
ETA: I love the stories about your dogs and they are just adorable!

Re: Speaking of playdates...
FYI here is how Riker was playing with his new lab friend over the weekend! ETA that Riker is the one on top of the lab in the background with that "face" in the second picture. LOL He is the one carrying the stick with the lab in the first picture.

I also live in Centereach. I think Bowie would love a doggie play date, but it would have to be on a weekend when i can leave the kids with DH!
ETA: we ALSO just seeded our backyard, so he hasn't been able to run around at all.

He's a shepherd/doberman mix, and loves everyone. Adults, kids, other dogs, cats.
FM me if you want to set something up!
